  1. Our fridge was dying earlier this year. The sales lady at Lowes stalked the wife and I like were going to grab a floor model and run for the door. We got the current one from them and their deliveries guys were not the shiniest crayon in the box. It has to come through the living room, through the dining room and then a 90 into the kitchen as the side door is not wide enough to come in that way. They took the doors off and reinstalled them once the fridge was in place. We went to a local appliance store and bought a 'scratch & dent' model with a good sized dent on the back. No one will ever see it and it doesn't affect the performance. Their in house delivery crew was top notch.....and they were smarter than the Lowes guys as they got it in the kitchen without removing the doors. Color options have really dropped as it's white, black or stainless.
  2. Auction win.....$20. Missing chrome front and interior tub/glass (this can be pilfered from one of the current versions)
  3. Didn't see any of these but the die cast kits did have a white Maisto C8
  4. Finally encountered the elusive Round2 shipper. My son got all six of the trike kits
  5. Ole Smoky Moonshine makes Shine Nog. Makes family gatherings more tolerable.
  6. Third visit from the plumber this year. The originals owners of this house planted an oak tree directly over the sewer line and over the years the roots have found the sewer line so I need to have the line augured every two or three years. The tree is four feet in diameter at the base and probably 80' plus tall so I know it would be very expensive to take it down. We never had any issues until about ten years ago when the hot pink of the 50's toilet broke so we had to get a new one. The money we save in low flush toilets (1.6 gallons versus 3.5 gallons) just goes to the plumber. I was searching on line to see if this toilet could be modified and was shocked to see that toilets now are down to 1.24 gallons per flush. WAIT!!! 1.6 gallons isn't 'moving the merchandise' why do they scale it back even more?? I don't need to launch it to the sewage treatment plant, just to the main in the street!
  7. Less "mall rated" look with Hot Wheels swap Wanted the HellCat in Yellow. (dye job).....added Matchbox wheels which are closer to SRT rims
  8. Matchbox has gone Maisto on some recent releases including the Bentley SUV, Dodge Durango, Mercedes G-Wagon 6x6, 59 Chevy wagon, etc. by tinting the windows and no interior. I was really surprised on the Bentley as when they were one company with Rolls Royce, they were very particular about licensing so there are no 'Palmer quality' miniatures out. Higher end HW wheels help the cause somewhat. Tires were originally purple but a Sharpie fixed that
  9. It's Jackie O. They did a four character series with her, JFK, Reagan and Carter
  10. My first one was Slash from Guns 'n Roses......followed by Jerry Garcia. I met a couple at one of the toy shows that they customize Pops characters by putting small lights in them powered by a watch battery (their best one was of course Uncle Fester with the light bulb in his mouth). I got playing on the web and found some interesting customs so I started doing it for my own amusement. These are a a few of them as I'm about a dozen in but some of the them are more than a tad on the dark side to post here....... Pics 1 and 2.....Funko included good detail but it's not painted accordingly (see the skin above the gloves). Repainted to match her pink Chanel dress. This is one of them I took to the dark side. Pic 3 thru 5.....SAMAURI!!! I'm a huge fan of John Belushi. Funko did two of his character John "Bluto" Blutarsky from Animal House (one in a toga and one with the COLLEGE sweatshirt). I took the head and put it on some warrior body.....found a sword in the hand of another Pops character. Beard is burnt cork rubbed on (intentionally left spotty). Yes he has the man bun on top. Pic 6.....Don't recall why I had the Joker, but looking closely at it, the colors said 'pimp'. Don't recall who the head was from. The hat was from some other Pop of an older lady with a shield. The zebra print is all quick swipes with toothpick
  11. I've been more into Matchbox as Hot Wheels frequently has oversized rear wheels and usually oddball designs. The Hot Wheels Jaguar XJ220 took three cars.....clear glass from the silver release, gold time from a dark blue one.....the rest went onto the black version which had the Jag logo on the side. Matchbox Bentley Continental GT was the 100th Anniversary release.....stripped the stripe, interior went from grey to black and the wheels off the current Mazda Miata
  12. Duke Energy! Their folks in the field are some of the hardest workers but it ends there. I got an e-mail from them letting me know I can donate as little as $2/month to help them research a clean energy source. Fund your research so you an gouge me? And Unsubscribe! But the one that lit my fuse was their inspection of the lines at the gas meter. One day I have two ladies banging on the door like they were ready to yell 'search warrant' and storm the house. They said they needed to see my gas meter. Nope....no entry without an appointment or a warrant. I was working from home and was not happy they beat on the door. I've argued with Duke in the past and I told them there are multiple dogs in the house. They told me to crate them. No! It's their house to roam. They told me I can leave a door unlocked for their tech. Sure....just gonna need you to sign a waiver accepting liability if someone breaks in via the unlocked door as my insurance won't pay if I didn't lock the door. So I make an appointment to have the inspection a couple weeks out on a specific date and four hour window. Day/time comes and goes......no tech! He calls THREE HOURS later and admits he didn't see the requested time and wants to come. NO! I took the day off to accommodate them and they missed it. It was close to the rant of the German's bombing Pearl Harbor from Animal House. I told them I need compensation for burning a PTO day and they failed to show. I've been ignored (go figure). Now they threaten to shut off the gas unless its inspected.
  13. Walked past the Duster too many times and for $20, I caved. Needs mirrors and one wiper. I may have the wiper or something close in a parts bin in the man cave. I worked for a company that my boss had an XLR. Since the 'company' owned the car, my name was on the company insurance policy so I got to drive it. Another GM vehicle that had potential and plug pulled too soon.
  14. 25th wedding anniversary today! My mom was not a gambling person other than a very rare lottery ticket, but it wouldn't surprise me if I got a check from a casino that she bet I would never see this day. I'm an only child so have the attention span of a goldfish and maturity level of an eight year old.
  15. My oldest son is car searching and he found a decent deal on a used SUV at a dealership. In the total cost estimate, they tried to slip in 'Pulse Braking". He reached back to the salesman and said it flashes the high mounted stop light 4x in 1.2 seconds to better alert the driver behind you. $900!!! Hard no!!!! Found the part on eBay and Amazon.....less than $20.
  16. I missed seeing this one mentioned..... AMT-1334 1/25 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Craftsman Plus Series $35.99 TBA
  17. Liked the Shelby for being an off color Don't recall seeing the delivery wagon before.....
  18. No words........ https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/UTCSSO73044?&utm_source=eefacebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=product-20220906&utm_content=collectibles
  19. Last weeks swap meet Camaro...open but complete 90 C-1500...sealed (heard Round2 was reissuing but dont know which version so grabbed it) 72 Chevy pick up...sealed $18 Midnight Cowbow....minor building and painting but complete
  20. I know they are north of $100k, but wanted to see how much and if it a 'market adjustment' sticker. Dash looks like they slapped a couple laptop screens on the dash and the controls were GM parts bin. Back half looks like a reimaged Avalanche. For the hype, I expected more.....
  21. Area dealership brought it to the show. No window sticker. Meh.....
  22. I love a good auction when they phone in the effort on the pics. No mention if complete and the pics showed the bad paint job as well as the remaining parts in the box. I figured I would gamble on at least the body. Came in the mail.....it's complete! No tire burn on the glass, decent chrome! Small chip on the tab of the hood but that is the only thing wrong.....
  23. Toy show last weekend.... I have the 1/18 Maisto version but AutoWorld came out with the 1/64 version. I dont expect to find them in the wild so I bought two of each (one for me and one for my teenager). Dealer only had three of each Not a huge Rat Fink fan but I will by them when they are reasonable.....
  24. The Shapp?
