  1. Good luck in your quest. I made a trade for an AMX as Okey had them in his stock at shows.....until I needed one. Months later, I find an AMX rebuilder at a swap meet and it had two windows. Gracious seller let me buy one of them
  2. AMC obsession continues...... 67 Ambassador SST promo.....missing a tailight
  3. Went to a toy show Saturday (unproductive) and then went to a local model swap meet to walk around....1.7 miles per my phone. Came home, walked in the front door making ONE step up from the porch into the house and POP! Left knee locked....the pop felt eerily like the pop the right knee made when I tore the meniscus over 30 years ago. I couldn't without pain and I knew if I tried to step I would be up to my nose in floor. Went to the family Dr this morning who believes I'm correct. Orthopedic Dr on Monday to schedule an MRI. Getting old sucks!
  4. Thank you everyone who sent well wishes regarding Brian. His breathing has been better but can get labored if excited. He hasn't played with any of his toys since he's been back home which is very unlike him. We had his follow up visit today. I was holding out pretty well until the vet uttered the words I dreaded......it's terminal! His heart is healthy but the risk is too great to work on the larynx or do any testing on the liver mass. It's about quality of life, not quantity. Other than 'months' the vet would not give an estimate about how ling he has left.
  5. On line auction. Gambled the vent windows were in tact as the pics were not the best.
  6. Last surviving original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd......
  7. 58 Pontiac that the original owner felt the need to use everything in the box......
  8. They need to find the Carson top for the 50 Ford
  9. My father had dementia but the sudden, unexpected passing of my mom (6 months after their 50th anniversary) greatly accelerated it. We took his car away when he was at an apartment complex lost where he was and backed into another car. I took him everywhere and his half brothers took turns taking him out. The final step was he was dressed like it was winter on an 80+ degree day and went for a long walk to the police department. Got him checked out and physically he was fine but his mind was slipping further. Took him home and placed baby proof locks on outside doors. An hour later, the police called as he went for a walk along the emergency pull off on the highway......last straw. Locked him in his house, put furniture in front of both doors and spent that night with him. Ended up moving him into a memory care nursing home for the final two years of his life. One tip.....they remember things that happened 70 years ago as vividly like it just happened and the last ten minutes of their life.....everything in between is still there but hiding. Dad was a car buff so I could show him pics of car shows from his youth and he was attentive and alert. His mom had dementia as well and grandma's safety zone was hearing Mitch Miller music.
  10. Been a long couple of days. Several months ago, Brian developed a breathing issue and was diagnosed him with hypoplastic trachea. It's more common in smaller dogs e bulldogs and pekingese. It was being managed with a couple meds but this week he got into a major issue that resulted a trip to the vet and then directly to the emergency vet. He ended up in doggie ICU and in an oxygen cage. He was breathing better but far from out of the woods. Day 2 was better but still struggling outside of the oxygen. He was rediagnosed as paralyzed larynx which causes similar breathing issues but affects bigger dogs like him. He came home yesterday with a couple meds and doing pretty well. Not playing with his toys but resting comfortably and sniffing around with his step sisters. Consequential finding is a large lump on his liver. There were two smaller masses but the cell biopsy indicated possible cancer. We're not doing any further testing as he is about 11 years old and the anesthesia itself is a risk because of his breathing. There are three stages of paralyzed larynx but again, he would need to be knocked out to test further and the risks outway it.
  11. Ohio has made it illegal to sell/plant them in the state as over time they split fairly easily in higher winds.
  12. My youngest made the high school baseball team but they want him to scrimmage with the varsity team as a sophomore. He's pitcher but I had both of my sons learn all positions however both of them excelled at pitching.
  13. There's at least eight editions. I've found the found all the one colored ones shown at WM. The ones with the cap are harder to find. Warning....do not drop them. I had a black one and dropped it (still in the packaging) and the outer panel of the drivers side rear fender shot off.
  14. My local Ollies had the Nomad but they're $15.99?
  15. Don't be too sure as I think Super Bowl 58 pre-game kicks off this weekend.
  16. As a former hotel GM, we would allow pets to stay at no additional charge. Pet owners are more respectful of the room and housekeeping never complained an animal had an accident in a room.
  17. I know they are kid toys, but I hate when Hot Wheels makes a great looking casting and then does the staggered wheels. Dechromed the interior on both....black one got the mandatory Cragers and swapped out the yellow tinted windows. KMart exclusive orange one got classic red lines. Grill painted but need to paint the turn signals on both
  18. Friends did it to their neighbor when they were on a cruise. Went in and loosened every light bulb so none of the fixtures would turn on. Everything else electrical was working fine.
  19. Growing up, my dad only built one model......the Kyote. There was a AMT Gremlin Funny Car and the Revell Austin but life got in the way and he never finished them. This weekend at a swap meet I saw the holiest of grails to me. The vendor was rethinking on some of the kits he had on the table and pulled some back....this being one of them. Having never seen one still in the box, i asked to open it. The seller thought it was mint, but it wasn't.....it's been started and it's missing pieces. After rethinking it, the vendor let it go for $10. (Thank you Rob!!!!) The built model still exists, but missing a few pieces. Dad passed six years ago from Dementia.....wish he was still around to see this.
  20. First model swap since October. One of the vendors brought his die cast. A young man talked his dad into the Maisto mid 50's Chrysler 300 and the 69 Dodge Charger.....nice choices! I had been talking with the vendor and then I see a 69 Cougar back fill the space formerly occupied by the 300. I teased the seller about holding back so we walked over to see what had not made it to the table yet. BOOM....first thing that materializes is the 'cuda. A few other nice ones and not being a Ford man, I caved on the Mustang. $50 for the trio.
  21. No one was killed and very few injuries from the Deer Park, Pasadena, Baytown TX tornado yesterday. My employer had an office in Deer Park and back half of the building is basically gone. The landlord has been great to work with and was able to get the city two allow a party of two from each tenant a two hour window to get their effects from their former offices before more rains Saturday. I'm the leasing guy and got the e-mail when the office took the hit. I went out later onto the web and one of the local weathermen was on the street in front of the building. As they panned down the road, I believe those two big rooftop HVAC units now in the road were originally from the building we were in. Preliminary reports today are calling it an EF3.
  22. Forecast all week for 1"-2" of snow starting this a.m. Meteorologist now says 3"-6". Really went on a limb since we're already at 4" and still snowing!
  23. My teenager is doing the in class driver's ed on line. After one of the module, he came out to share about the course talking about pushing in the (cigarette) lighter and how to know it's ready to use. Wait.....what?? I remember my Stealth (1993!!) had a plastic insert in the power point. How old is this program?
  24. Hobby Store had a 20% off sale before Christmas (Nissan was excluded). I gave up years ago of telling the family what I want so I Secret Santa'd myself! I have the six choppers but grabbed an extra one of this one to play with some of the unique paint colors out now.....
  25. Estate sale find....All F/S....$25/each There were others but the boss moved the weekly department meeting to the time the doors opened so missed out on many others (not that I 'needed' these or any more)
