  1. You can make an ice cream float........
  2. Matchbox has been hit (Plymouth Savoy) or miss (more without an interior) in the recent years. Here's a few interesting ones coming out next year......
  3. 44 tables! Doug said he will look at doing again, possibly next month, as the Dayton and Cincinnati shows aren't 'til November this year. Sold of more than I bought....in spite of what the wife thought! It was just great to see people from both area clubs
  4. From the Louisville show yesterday...... Pic 1.....builts but using for parts. The van will get restored eventually as is it's complete has the early 70's front end (missing the horizontal taillights) and no sink lines from the gigantic clear top of later versions Pic2....Geo Storm promo, Mercedes SL (Monogram kit), and a die cast Pagani (for my teenager) Pic 3....the Yellow Challenger was the lone one I was missing. Jo-Han Toronado (sealed). P/L Silver pre-painted Ford GT. Revell California Roller......missing tires/glass, may leave unpainted as one of the best 'molded in colors' I've ever seen
  5. When you're a kid, it was exciting to get your favorite players autograph at a sporting event. I'm not sure which is worse now......seeing players knowing you're old enough to be their father OR taking you're kids to the autograph session knowing you watched that player's father play the sport and you have HIS autograph!
  6. They changed the wording on some of the model listings. It used to say: Due to the nature of this item, the style you receive will vary. If you would like to specify a style, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-888-0321, and press 1 to place your order with a representative. But they changed it to: NOTE: This item comes in assorted styles. While we make every effort to ensure items in stock are represented accurately online, at this time, we are unable to ensure that you will receive this item in the style you see pictured.
  7. As more details are made public, the more heartbreaking this becomes. Turns out the mortar tilted towards the group of people at the party and he stepped in front of it to protect his friend/teammate and his family. A truly selfless act......
  8. My oldest finally got an IT position!! Now that I'm the old fart, I'm shocked at the stuff companies pull and then they wonder why people job hop! One of his interviews, they offered him a position for about 33% less than the one he just accepted. Another one wanted him to sign a non-compete clause...hard no!! If it turns out to be a nightmare, then he cant jump ship to another company for a year!
  9. Wow....great job on that land yacht!!
  10. Ordered the dog meds on line and it took a week to get from FL to OH. The sad part was it took just two days to get from FL to Indianapolis and the tracking showed it sat there for two days and then locally at the depot in OH for two days. Four days to make the journey I could knock out in about four hours round trip. I send a note to the company to let them know as I may order from another source it they cant find a better shipper and they made excuses for the post office being understaffed and a significant increase of packages. Seriously? The USPS tracker showed the meds delivered in/near the mailbox. They were not there. 20 minutes later I hear the mail carrier having a conversation on my front porch so I hustle (as much as a fat guy can) to ask where the box is. She was on her phone having a conversation so it took me a couple doors away to catch her. She said she put it at the side door because of the sign on the door. WTH?? The sign on the door asks that packages not be left AGAINST the door (as the FedEx guy sets the dog food bags against the door so you cant get out the door to grab them). So instead she left the small cardboard box out in the rain by the side door instead of in the mail box or on the covered porch. (BTW, it was flea meds so it was in a cardboard box itself but the exterior box soaked up all the rain). I sent a note to the USPS and they blamed it on the carrier covering for the regular one. Funny the ten year old that delivered the Girl Scout cookies was able to understand the sign.
  11. The dollar menu at Taco Bell really DOES pay for itself!
  12. LSAN, South Korea (WKRC/CBS Newspath) - Using a toilet can pay for your coffee or buy you bananas at a university in South Korea, where waste is being used to help power a building. Cho Jae-weon, an urban and environmental engineering professor at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), has designed an eco-friendly toilet connected to a laboratory that uses human waste to produce biogas and manure. The BeeVi toilet - a portmanteau of the words bee and vision - uses a vacuum pump to send feces into an underground tank, reducing water use. There, microorganisms break down the waste to methane, which becomes a source of energy for the building, powering a gas stove, hot-water boiler and solid oxide fuel cell. There are three of the toilets in a campus building that opened in 2018. "If we think outside the box, feces can make energy and manure. Circulating this precious value back into the ecological system and the economy is the idea of BeeVi toilet," Cho said. An average person defecates about 500g a day, which can be converted to 50 liters of methane gas, the environmental engineer said. This gas can generate 0.5kWh of electricity or be used to drive a car for about 1.2km (0.75 miles). The manure is also used in a nearby garden. Cho has devised a virtual currency called Ggool, which means honey in Korean. Each person using the eco-friendly toilet earns 10 Ggool a day. Students can use the currency to buy goods on campus, from freshly brewed coffee - approximately 15 Ggool - to instant cup noodles, fruits and books. The students can pick up the products they want at a shop and scan a QR code to pay with Ggool. "We put value on person's faeces and give 10 Ggool as toilet income and basic income," said Cho. "I think everyone can put different values on 10 Ggools. Some people say it's worth about three dollars while others say it's like the price of coffee."
  13. A couple years ago Duke Energy was pushing the thermostats that THEY could shut down your a/c and redirect the energy. For you doing that, they offered some lowball number like $20. Um...NO! I'm not coming home to hot, stagnant air. Besides, the furry foursome would be miserable. Just for fun, I called them and told them I would sign up so long as they would accept financial responsibility if they damaged my a/c short cycling it. They said no.....and so did I. These are the same people that issued a disconnect notice to me due to their accounting applying my payment all to one account and none to the other......and when called, I was told it was my fault (!) and I had to call my bank to fix it.
  14. Dealership relocated their Mazda franchise and rebranded the building for the Jeep line so they held a Jeep Fest yesterday. From the stock to the highly modified.....nice show. Very over cast so not the best pics but a couple very nice older ones...... The engine pic is the 6.4L in the new Rubicon. Owner said it will do 12.8 in quarter mile.....stock.
  15. 0-to-60 time as low as 2 seconds Range of up to 500 miles Time to fully recharge batteries?
  16. Nowadays it's all about the fees and additional charges...... Called someone to install a garage door and they wouldn't do it unless I bought the door through them as well Plumber adds truck charge to drive to the job site, plus a 'fuel surcharge' Buy a 1/18 die cast at Sam's and they offer a one year warrant for $4.99?? Don't touch a bank account for a couple months, bank adds a monthly maintenance fee Sporting event/concert you can print your own ticket so TicketBasturd adds a convenience fee for them doing nothing
  17. I'm going but seriously considering getting a table. I'm running out of room and I see things I know I will never build (mostly race cars.....IMSA, ACA, funny cars, sprint cars, etc) and a couple boxes of built ones. I compounded the issue when Sam's put out their die cast much earlier this year and I grabbed extras of what I thought my teenager would want only to have him pass on them.
  18. Fireworks accident. Only 24 years old.....RIP #80
  19. These are the same people that told Noah "just a little rain in the morning but mostly sunny this afternoon!"
  20. When some police departments started using Tesla's as police cars, the report was the battery only lasted about 3 minutes at full throttle. The Bugatti will empty the tank in 12 minutes at full throttle. The Bugatti can be refueled in a matter of minutes.......the Tesla will take several hours. That acceleration is nice but I don't want to have to plug my car in and wait several hours so I can drive back home.
  21. I have a good friend in the Clearwater area (transplant) who feels the need to ping me when they temp here drops well below freezing so the only way I can get back is hurricane season. I asked him if he had enough supplies for Elsa (beer for him and food for his greyhound). This is the forecast for the hurricane.....well about 30 forecasts actually. How many of us can go into our bosses office and show them the projected outcome for future project looking like this.....and still have a job? Years ago, there was a local morning show that commented about one of the new stations in the area having an attractive weatherperson......they said if you are going to give me complete inaccuracy, at least give me something to look at!
  22. No they aren't considered a kit so no discount. The Motor Max are $10 @ WalMart. I have a few of the C8's but more of the Jeep Gladiator, Dodge Rams and most of the colors of the Dodge Challenge Hellcat
  23. Hobby Lobby had a medium blue and the neon yellow C8 in 1/24, but they did away with the 40% of coupon so at $20/each, they are still on the shelf.
  24. Expensive week.....Sam's club got their 1/18 Maisto die cast in early this year New bronco....red, silver, black, orange, dark blue and gray/blue Ford GT in medium blue GT500 in white w/ blue stripes, red and medium blue Lamborghini Sian in burgandy Lamborghini V12 Gran Turismo in green Lamborghini Centenario in whjite C8 Corvette white w/black stripes and medium blue Bugatti Divo in cherry red 2003 Cobra Mustang in competition orange (exclusive) 1971 NIssan 280Z (green) and 350z (orange)......both for my son passed on the 71 Nova in yellow
