That happened at my Dad's house. I called in a local company that had great reviews and the tech came out, had to cut a hole in the door (no other door, glass block windows and the cable wrapped itself around the track) so it could be opened. He claimed the spring had to be ordered (okay....?) I called his office and ordered the spring AND a replacement panel for the door since this one had a big hole. Two weeks later another guy shows up with the spring (stating it was a standard part and the first quy should have had it on his truck) and no panel. The office didn't order one. Why would I replace the spring on a door with a hole. Leave....just....leave. Bought a close out door from Menard's. Called their recommended installer and they wanted $400 to install it. Um, no! All other placed wanted to double dip selling the door AND installing it. I bribed my 21 year old son with what it should cost (around $200) to do it with a YouTube video.

I would NOT commit that crime again!!!!! First thing would be enroll in the Witness Relocation Program.....I'm off the grid! Second would be start an animal rescue/refuge/sanctuary as rehoming my father's dog when he was no longer able to care for him was a struggle. I've seen too many dogs dumped at shelters when their human can no longer care for them and family can't/won't take the animal.

They must survive on the r/c world. I haven't been to the local on in several years (or the one in Lexington) due to poor customer service. They used to carry Hot Wheels and other collectable lines so I figured I would stop in. The sign says the store opens at 10a...no signs of life. A middle age guy and an older gentleman unlock and walk in a few minutes after 10a so it'll be another ten before they are ready to welcome the public. Almost all the models were the same as the last round of close outs at Hobby Lobby or the current stock at Ollies. There were a few Revell Germany kits. Down a little farther, the die cast shelves were in disarray. A few years ago I worked at Dicks Sporting Goods and no one left unless the Manager was happy everything was straightened for the following morning. (The 1/24 Maisto yellow four door Jeep did catch my eye but not at $24!!). I did grab the die cast 1/24 New Ray 66 GTO for $15 as I only saw one at Hobby Lobby once and never again.

Haven't checked it in a while so I reset the mpg calculator for the trip from Indy to the SCIMA show as I came down I-65. 2009 G8 with the 3.6L (91,000 miles on it)....31 mpg for the hour drive. Not bad for a 4,000lbs car

A department in our office had a gender reveal party for a lady who was having her second child. A young man in my department is originally from Ghana and looked at me, shaking his head, 'you Americans celebrate the stupidest of s***'. Yeah I gotta go with him on that one!

I've been searching for the lone color I didn't have in the case. Even the on-line search was not proving fruitful but I stumbled onto a dealer last weekend who actually had two of them. Paid a little more than the others but it filled the last slot.

When George Strait sang 'Amarillo By Morning', he was not shipping an envelope from Cincinnati via UPS Ground! I know they have their high-tech systems, but it just doesn't seem that efficient when it stopped four times and still had not made Amarillo. (I apologize if I got that song stuck in your head now). I felt old when my first car was a well used/abused 1973 Plymouth Duster for $450. Now that buys two tires on the Pontiac G8. At a recent car show with a new Lexus LC.......$11,000 buys you an option package?????

When I was looking for a used Pontiac G8, a local GMC/Buick dealer had one. As with the usual "I have to take this to my manager" I was encouraged to walk around the showroom and see the latest GM had to offer. I don't want an SUV....I don't want a Crossover....I want a car. Especially as they shorten the wheelbase the driver side wheel well cuts into the dead pedal space. I'm 6'0" so I prefer to straighten my legs out, not sit upright like I do at my desk all day.
