Yeah Carl, the Chicagoland winters can be tough as I spent many winters working outside doin' construction work. I did "hate" winters, but now I find that if I just accept them, they're not so bad. This winter so far has been pretty good and I shouldn't complain.
While I would like to order more kits/parts from Modelhaus, I know that they would just end up on my "build pile" and it would be "iffy" if I ever used them. Guess that I'm pretty well saturated with kits both resin & plastic, that I'm tryin' to buy as little as possible in the future as I'm not a fast builder. I seem to have a lot of other things goin' on as well as model cars.
Pro Stock? Looks more like a Super Stock to me. And besides the number of letters, what's the difference who's name is on the box regarding AMT or Lindberg?
The Illinois Toy & Plastic Show is on the 28th of this month (Feb.) from 9 a.m. to 3 00 p.m. at the Du Page County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois, and has always been a good swap meet. Hope to see some of you there.
I think that there was a guy in the Dayton, Ohio area that made a working Christmas Tree a few years back. He's on the Spotlight Message Board occasionally.
If any of you are not happy with your JoHan kits because of the wrong dash, bad tail lights, missing tires, etc,. feel free to send the entire kit(s) to me and I'll be sure to take good care of them.
We had a demo on using tissues with white glue/water mix last Friday night at our club meeting on making tonneau/bed covers on pickup beds. I didn't watch the demo as I was busy gabbin' with other members. This method could be used to make tarps over engines, cars, etc. as well.
If you're having problems like that with your decals, I suggest that you spray the decal sheets with a couple light coats of clear lacquer and let them dry for 24 hours before using them. This should cure the problem I hope.
Wow, extremely nice resin cast engines. It's just too bad that I don't have any use for them as I got rid of all my 1/16th scale kits while "thinnin' the herd."
