If I want some color on the underside of the body, or headliner I do it first before painting the outside. If It's the headliner, I let it dry and then mask it off before painting the outside of the body.
On chrome plated parts that I want to have an aluminum color, I simply spray a couple light coats of Testors Dull-Cote and it works good. I do this on wheels, bumpers, Moon tanks, blowers, etc. to name a few.
I've been using this paint stand for years now. I was made by Shabo the same company that made the letter transfers for tires. Unfortunately they are out of business, however I also have a new one someplace as well.
You sure do have an amazing and awesome collection of 1/18th scale die-casts Lance, and I can't imagine how much room it takes up. There are a lot of cars in your collection that I really like. Thanks for sharing with us.
Heat? Exactly what will happen to the car if it's not in a heated garage? I've been drivin' for 50+ years and never had a car in a heated garage and things seem just fine. Some of my vehicles have been outside during the winters with no ill effects either.
Whether you liked or disliked The Force Awakens, the latest Star Wars movie, George Lucas has been rakin' in the dough and will continue to do so for awhile. Plus MILLIONS of dollars will be spent on Star Wars toys for a LONG while as well. I've heard a person completely unhappy with it, however Mr. Lucas was smilin' all the way to the bank. I guess he supplied the "demand" for another sequel.
I was shoveling/plowing snow this morning and noticed that my mail box got attacked by the village snow plow again. On the good side is that I called the village public works office to report it, and it was fixed shortly there after.
The weather sure changed around here, and not for the better either. We've had snow, sleet, and freezing rain, and high winds so far, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Groan, another kit I'm gonna "hafta" buy as the mid-60's was my favorite time period to be at the drag strips. I'll probably just add it to the "pile" as I have other projects I'm currently workin' on.
NO kits for me which is very good as my "stash" is really too big and I'll probably still be "thinnin' the herd" a bit more this comin' year. Hopefully I'll be able to count the number of new/old kits I buy in 2016 on one hand. That's the plan.
After the first car was wrecked, where it also killed one spectator and injured several others. A second car needed to be built because of prior match race commitments. The car shown is the second car after restoration.
