  1. Nice collection Eric, but I thought that Matchbox cars came out earlier then 1969, or am I mistaken?
  2. Tom, I usually have a can of Testors Dull-Cote handy for when I want aluminum wheels, aluminum bumpers, and of course Moon tanks too. I just spray these chrome plated pieces with one or two light coats or Dull-Core and they're "good to go." Moon tanks always come plated in the model kits, however 1:1 Moon tanks are made of spun aluminum. Also blowers come plated as well, but 1:1 blower casings are made of materials that can't be chrome plated, however they can be polished to look chrome plated. I sometimes use Dull-Cote on the blowers as well. I hope this helps.
  3. Yes I remember those as well as the Pactra paints, and also the AMT lacquer paints too. Here is a car painted with the AMT lacquers back in the early 70's.................................
  4. Bullitt, I usually spray all my chassis with a "rattle can" and never a glossy color either.
  5. I'm also lookin' forward to the Milwaukee Miniature Motors Swap Meet & Contest this coming Sunday Dec. 6th in Waukesha. I hope to see many club members there from both southern Wisconsin model clubs as well as the club displays.
  6. What an excellent video on mounting the liner & slick to the wheel, thanks Steve.
  7. Nice Mercs, real nice!
  8. Hmmm, in all the years I've been car modeling, I've never cared much or at all 'bout the rear ends. Maybe because they're on the bottom of the car and all cars I've seen at shows, contests, and club display tables were displayed right side up.
  9. It snowed a bit overnight, and I'm pleased that it was a light snow and that we didn't get "socked" with 10+ inches like we did almost two weeks ago,
  10. I redid mine 'bout a year and a half ago. It is a spare bedroom that is my den/hobby room. It has served me will for the last 20+ years.
  11. While I don't air-brush, I have friends who do and have tried their Grex and I like it a lot, and they do also.
  12. Very nice lookin' Caddy Nick, and great color choice as well.
  13. Cool pics, and looks like a great day at the track.
  14. I think that my '56 Plymouth Belvedere has a two-tone paint job if I'm not mistaken.
  15. I have done business with Dave over at MCW a few times when I made the Toledo Show. Not the most friendliest guy, but a good guy to do business with.
  16. Don't worry Bill, as some rivet counters WILL find something wrong with the kit, as they do every kit that hits the shelves. It's a "given!"
  17. Welcome to the forum Ian as this is a great place to be.
  18. After I put together the Christmas tree today, what pleased me was seeing my 27 month old grandson helping my wife and daughter decorate the tree. A moment to be cherished.
  19. At the time I was born, my parents didn't have the money to own a car. I believe my first ride was in a taxi cab.
  20. While I don't use an air-brush, I have found out that I get a better finish by spraying closer to the body, as opposed to holding the can farther away.
  21. I still have one in my "stash" from JoHan and I believe the price when I bought it was $17.
  22. That scale is WAY to small for me, and as far as Mini Coopers go I prefer this one.....................................................
  23. I'm hopin' to start on an MCW resin kit this comin' January for a club project. I have a few MCW kits and they look pretty good, however I have yet to build one.
  24. I've had a couple matters "irk" me today, yes on Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully next Thanksgiving will be better.
  25. I've made all the MCACN shows (7?) so far, and it's a show not to be missed.......................................
