  1. Well then, just HOW is it cheaper to produce in China and ship it here? We're paying a premium price for those tires, or whatever aren't we?
  2. You're a VERY lucky person Carl to have grown up in Chicago, as I know that I am.
  3. The way of getting around the high price of the "parts packs" is not to buy them and do without. I recently ordered a pair of front tires from a resin company for an upcoming project, and they were $6.00 + shipping and I need them.
  4. I shared those days Rich, and I'm VERY happy that I did. My wife says that I'd still be watching a B&W TV if it weren't for her.
  5. Many years ago I bought a mint '63 Dodge Polara Hardtop for $150, and maybe someday (year) I'll build it.
  6. Come on over Richard, as we've got home made cookies here.
  7. You can all relax as Ross Gibson had passed away 'bout a week ago, and may he R.I.P.
  8. Very nice builds, all of them. I just recently started building planes as I haven't done so since the 50's.
  9. VERY nice build on that Safari.
  10. Don't forget 'bout the S.L.A.M. meeting comin' up next weekend. Maybe I'll even bring something to work on, as I did so last night at another club meeting, and actually got something done. Hopefully "motivation" is comin' my way.
  11. There is also The Directory of Model Car Kits w/price guide for 124th & 1/25th scale kits by Bill Coulter & Bob Shelton. It has been VERY helpful as it lists the year, description, scale, year issued, kit #, and value. I've used it many times when buying or selling kits over the years. The Directory is updated every few years as well. I've bought mine from Model Empire, and I think the Model Roundup has it listed in their inventory as well. I do recommend this publication. Remember that the value is ONLY a guide and not gospel, as I've seen kits selling for lower and higher prices at times, than what is listed.
  12. Not recently, but I do know that it will be released and on the shelves long before I build ALL the model kits in my "stash."
  13. I would check with Competition Resins Ben.
  14. Looks much better than the last one Rich.
  15. It all has to do with SALES, and selling 2,000 of one kit isn't gonna cut it.
  16. A lot of money, yeah but the bottom line is that either you want it, or you don't.
  17. Nice job on those builds Stephen, real nice.
  18. I had to do a "road trip" today to attend a business meeting, and the temps were in the 30's and the weather was dry and partially sunny which was good.
  19. Nice job on that truck Justin, as I've bought a couple of those kits to use "just for parts," and using the frame and suspension on my current build.
  20. Nice build, and I was able to meet Larry Griffith last year.
  21. Please keep it by you Tom, many thanks!
