  1. Mahalo Gregg, as I really appreciate this forum.
  2. Having to get up early tomorrow morning, as someone's coming over to pick up some furniture that I need to get rid of. I didn't know that "early wakeups" were part of my retirement plan.
  3. Check with B-N-L Resins for your truckin' needs.
  4. I agree that the so called "Black Friday" is a bit much, however to each their own. Those opposing it can just opt not to partake in such madness. Others are in the "hunt" for great deals and markdowns on gifts. We must always remember that thousands, if not millions of dollars are spent for gifts for other people that they probably don't even want. And a lot of those gifts are bought by people who really don't have the kind of money these people are spending. Yes, they are going into debt when shopping for Christmas presents. A lot of people have lost the whole meaning of what Christmas really is.
  5. A 30's Chrysler Airflow, no as my Danbury & Franklin MInts are of the 50's cars.
  6. I prefer my die-cast models "as is" as I have enough kits in my "stash" to build without tearing up perfectly good models.
  7. I also have that Buick convertible in my collection as well. It's a real beauty.
  8. I like it, a LOT!
  9. Or that person could give up model building altogether, no?
  10. Missed opportunities, I highly doubt it. I'm sure the model companies know what they're doing and how to spend THEIR money on new projects. Just 'cause two or fourteen model builders want a certain car kit issued, doesn't constitute it as a "missed" opportunity.
  11. Hmmmm, snow huh? Looks like I'll be drivin' my two- wheel drive truck today just like any other day.
  12. I wuz lookin' for you guys Tony as I was there 'bout noon 'til 3 p.m. yesterday. I hafta agree with some of the things you said 'bout the show, especially some of the "barn finds" I think should've been left in the barn. I also agree with some of the owners over documenting things 'bout their cars. They think that some of the show attendees are going to read all that stuff they put on signs and easels, or that anybody cares how many oil changes a car has had? Yeah right. And how 'bout that Camaro or '63 Impala with "only 247 miles" on it? Must not have been a very good car if nobody was drivin' it, yes cars are made to be driven.
  13. It pleased me today to go to the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals Car Show as it was not to be missed in my book. Lots of rain today and I chose to drive out of the three of us that went together. No really heavy downpours so it was a piece of cake, especially since I've been there before and know my way around. I'm sure glad that it wasn't that "white stuff" instead.
  14. The tickets are $25 at the door and only $20 online. I would've paid $50 as the show is THAT good.
  15. As usual the 2014 Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals was a great show to attend to say the very least. I'm lookin' forward to next years show already as I know that I won't be disappointed. The wings at Hooters were great as well.
  16. I would check with Model Empire in West Allis, Wisconsin or Brian's Pro Shop in DeKalb, Illinois if I were lookin' for one.
  17. Hmmm, I'll have to keep an eye out for the upcoming issues. Thanks Snake45.
  18. Very nice job on that "boulevard barge," and the AMT '59 Lincoln Continental Conv. kit is what started it all for me.
  19. Hopefully years '64 & '65 will be featured in upcoming issues of Hot rod Deluxe.
  20. Why do you need a kit of your wife's car? Just go in the garage and you'll see that you have a 1:1 scale model already. I have MANY other modeling projects I'd rather do than build models of cars I have or had in the past. That's what photos are for.
  21. Sweet build Jason, very nice indeed!
  22. YES, there ARE people that stupid.
  23. Yes Harry, that can be a problem.
  24. Oh it doesn't surprise me that they're great sellers, and have many worthwhile uses. Just a little pricey for me, and I think that the enjoyment would wear off quickly in my case.
  25. Venture Hobbies along with Al's Hobbies are long gone. Ron's in Mundelein is still around as I was just there two weeks ago and should get over there again real soon.
