  1. Thanks for the info Joe, as I guess I didn't realize how pricey they can be.
  2. To me vintage is the ONLY way to go, thanks for posting.
  3. WOW! That's a scary site. BTW Joe, how much would one of those copters set a person back?
  4. I have plans to be there 'bout noon on Sunday and hopefully will see some of you there. We'll be stopping at Hooters for some wings before the show.
  5. I believe that the decals came from SLIXX.
  6. Ron's Hobbies in Mundelein has a pretty good selection of model car kits, and although I haven't been to Forever Timeless Hobby Shop for quite some time, I did enjoy going there as well.
  7. In the 50's for Thanksgiving, my parents drove to Buffalo along with my brother and I and we only got as far as Ashtabula, Ohio before the roads we closed and we had to take the train the rest of the way. I don't recall how much snow there was as I was only 8 or 9 years old maybe, but it was enough to stop us in our tracks.
  8. mikemodeler I have been havin' trouble postin' pics on this website for the last several months. I don't have any problems doing so on other froums. Exotics Builder will most likely be postin' pics from the show, so look for them.
  9. I have some relatives that live in Buffalo, N.Y. and boy did they get "dumped on" with the snow. That's a scary thought.
  10. Will you be there on Saturday, Sunday, or both?
  11. Don't forget folks, the show is THIS weekend, Nov. 22nd & 23rd. You can also get discount tickets online.
  12. You can pick and predict all you want, but any football game is just a "crapshoot."
  13. Would that be in any relation to Mickey Finn?
  14. Wait 'til you have to "fill up" a 34 gallon tank.
  15. Very nice job on that S & M Comet.
  16. Wow, I haven't played cribbage for almost 40 years now. Where did all that time go???
  17. I have pretty much I need except enough motivation to build, so I really don't need to deal with ordering by mail or on-line and deal with that stuff.
  18. And after you've found a place and a way to store them, what do you do with them in the future? Trade them like baseball cards or what?
  19. Try Chief Joseph at Firebird models.
  20. Yes you can, as I've done it before with good results.
  21. I only open 'bout 30% of my kits, as I'm not goin' to build 'em all anyway, and a sealed kit is easier to sell, trade, or donate. When I do open a kit, I cut an X on the bottom of the box from corner to corner, open the box, and then fold over the triangles of shrink wrap into the cover and tape them. On the shelf, the open kits looked sealed and don't have edges along the bottom that can be snagged or ripped.
  22. Looks good for a ten year old car.
  23. Yes Ace, back-in-the-day a lot of guys raced whatever they had just for the fun and challenge of racing. It was fun back then, and yes there were class winners which also added to the fun. It was a time when daily drivers were also "weekend warriors."
  24. Really nice build on that Nomad kit.
