  1. Jesse, we were there early last year (my first time in many years) and there was plenty of parking there. When we went out to the car with our many purchases there was always some parking spots available. There is a very good snack bar in the building as I recall. I don't remember about entry costs but I believe it's one entry cost for the NNL and not per model. But keep in mind there is a entry fee for the toy show and a separate one for the NNL. You can start entering your models as soon as the NNL opens. I don't believe there is a cut off time as it not a judged show. Hope this helps.
  2. Excellent show again this year guys. Lots of vendors and some great quality builds on the tables. Thanks for the pics, Bob.
  3. Thanks for letting us know about that, Bob. That alleviates the need to get there real early to get parked. Look forward to seeing you there.
  4. Bill, Think of one big auditorium. Then in a corner of said space there is a boxed in area of tables with only one way in or out. Obviously you can see some of the models from outside of the designated area but if you want a closer look and a chance to talk to all the model builders present, you have to pay to get into the NNL Area. I was a little surprised last year but got used to it pretty quick. There were three of us there last year. We're known as shoppers as much as builders. But I said I came here for the show and the shopping was secondary (although I did my fair share before the NNL started). The other 2 sat outside the area and waited after they were done shopping and would not pay to view the actual NNL. I was thrilled to meet Tim Boyd and have a chance to talk to other car model builders that I've met throughout the years. I look forward to seeing you there as well as Dave Van and anybody else that I know or from this board etc.
  5. I plan on being there this year. I look forward to some shopping and then checking out the great models and visiting with people. I'll keep an eye for you Dave.
  6. Happy Birthday, Tom! May your family find a cake big enough to put all the candles on.....

    Royal Bug

Very nice build. Love to see a great classic built up. Although I have to admit when I saw the topic I was thinking it was a Beetle owned by a king, queen or princess.
  10. 18 piece swing band? Now that would be cool instead of the usual canned music at a cruise night. It ain't got a thing if it ain't got that swing...
  11. Model Roundup is currently showing it as coming, now, in early September.
  12. Sweet 300ZX! Nice clean build.
  13. The Porsche kit might be worth something but be advised it is supposed to be rereleased in the coming months. This will be the first time in many, many years.
  14. This may have been mentioned before but staying on the truck theme, how about 57-60 Ford trucks. It would seem to be a lot of possibilities there.
  15. That's why I asked if you meant the IPMS Nationals as I was sure they were in Columbus. A group from Toronto IPMS and Peel Scale Modelers have taken a bus tour down there. I thought there would be more coverage too.
  16. Do you mean the IPMS convention? If so there is slight coverage under the Contest and Shows Category.
  17. Keep in mind, no matter what we wish for, Moebius has chosen topics that they can get more mileage from. They picked the Hudson's as they could also be done as stock car racers. I'm sure that's the thoughts with the 65 Plymouths, the 61 Pontiacs and the upcoming Comets. All can have a spin off/Model King release as some type of race car. Hopefully they will also choose subjects that can be spun off as wagons etc as Revell has done with the 57 Ford.
  18. That car is a combination of 2 cars my Dad had. He had a 69 CS in that odd green colour and he had a 74 In blue. Learning how to drive in that 74 was like learning to drive while piloting the USS Enterprise. When you were backing up there was a whole lot of car behind you.
  19. Great to see one of these built up. Thanks.
  20. Yep, there it is. But it used to a nice little list at the bottom of the main page, I could see at a glance if my friends were online. Now I have to go through 6 pages of members to see who's online at the moment? Again, I don't mean to be complaining but I don't see how that is an improvement.
  21. Yes, I have the same 2 questions as those were items I used frequently. I've also noticed some stating how pretty it looks but I find it dull greyish not at all clear like the last version. My Safari browser is completely up to date so I'm not sure how this is better as it is harder to read and dull to look at. But I guess if it's working better for others and it's attracting younger folk then it is good.
  22. We have 2 threads going on this topic, but Anthony I asked the same question on the other thread. I didn't have a long list but it will take awhile to find then again. I find this update greyish. Not as clean and crisp as the old one.
  23. Happy Birthday, Tom! Hope you had a great day and got some hobby related gifts.
  24. It can get interesting about the wildlife. About 3 weeks ago I was heading southbound into Barrie, Ontario, the nearest city to me, when the traffic slowed to almost a stop. I was rather surprised as it was early on a Sunday morning and the cottage country exodus hadn't really started yet. Anyway it turned out there were about 4 adult geese and around 30 goslings running down the slow lane. Just after I got past the raging horde it came on the radio to be careful because of them and that someone had been called to try to get them out of there.
  25. Ooohhh! Skip, I like that answer! He has many interesting rides. Definitely I would lean towards Duesenberg/Cord/Packard etc from the mid to late 30's.
