1940 Ford Woody from Revell 40 Ford tooling 31 Ford slant windshield fordor town sedan based on Revell 31 Model A tooling. Of course I'm probably the only one who wants this so I could easily replicate my own car. I agree with Chuck for wanting a closed cab 30/31 A pick up based on the revell sedan/woody A stock 40 Ford pick'up & a proper stock 38 Ford pick-up with correct cab 29/29 tudor and coupe from the AMT/MPC wagon/p'up kit. Any new station wagon kits. That's it for now...

Brendan, That's a great build of that kit. It's neat to finally see one of these built up. Definitely on my must get list. Hope to do a Bruno Spengler build if aftermarket decals become available.

Matthew, while I understand your frustration with repeated beginner articles in Scale Auto (and Fine Scale Modeler is the same way) if you read the questions both in the magazine and on forums so many them are new people that are entering (or reentering) the hobby wanting to know basics. If they pick up a mag at a hobby shop and all the articles are complete builds of contest quality models they would quickly be discouraged. I know I often open scale auto or fine scale and go "not another air brush basics or not another adhesive basics"! But in the end they wouldn't be running these articles if there wasn't a demand from the consumer. And in the different strokes for different folks, I love the diorama columns. I find it most frustrating that so much contest coverage totally ignores dioramas but that's a whole other topic....

Jim, I'm glad you put real in quotation marks when referring to WWE Smackdown. I'd watch BJ for hours before ever tuning that in. To each his own...

Guys in Ontario who want a club farther East
peter31a replied to Nick Winter's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
Kevin, every club is a bit different but generally guys bring their most recents builds or projects for the club to see, some bring stuff to work on during the meeting. Usually there is some buying/selling/swapping going on. Some clubs have demos i.e. baremetal foil etc. Depending how organized the club is or if they're doing a show there might be a business portion of the meeting. Some clubs have monthly themes so that you build a model for that theme or cars you've aready built that matches the theme. Just some of the stuff that goes on. -
And if I might add...t'is a beautiful piece of work too!

Very nice Ferarri! Love the sports racers from the 60's. Great work.

Sweet! That's one nice clean A Bone. Looks period perfect.

Accu-Pro has been out of business for quite awhile. Your best hope would be an auction site unless someone knows of a caster doing something similar to this body.

For me, I'd be looking for items from 20's to the 40's-50's. Model T, Model A era into early hot rod era. -
Great build! I've been looking forward to seeing one of these built up. They really do look sharp.
-
Wow! What a great piece of modelling! That's how a hot rod truck is done. Excellent work.

model car magazine
peter31a replied to moparmadness's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As one of the ones who has to pay big bucks for a subscription and then wait about 3 weeks after everyone starts saying they have their's here on the board (waiting for 153), I will still pay for the printed version. I have no objection to a digital version if some people think that is better for them. And after all great kahuna it is your sandbox so I say go for it. As long as the printed version remains. But to me an online 'magazine' is just a fancy website. It's a gimmick being able to turn the pages. I've looked at a few of these so called magazines on the web and have to laugh at the attempts to be a magazine with a cover page and pages that turn. It's so impractical. It would be better to have each article on it's own seperate web page. I don't know how to explain what I mean.... Anywho just the thoughts of one lonely dinosaur. -
My screen saver is one from super beetles.com with random vw bugs. My current background is this pic taken at Meadow Brook concours.

Ooooohh! Sweet DTM car! Well done. I have a few of these waiting. Hope they turn out as well as yours.

Nick, If I lived as close to Dailey's Hobbies as you do I wouldn't bother with a subscription either. Unfortunatly I don't get down to the city often enough so I pay the subscription rate. With our dollar almost at par it is a little outrageous but I want the magazine so... -
