New Pop Up Ads
bobthehobbyguy replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen these on my iphone but not my android tablet. Really annoying. I'll avoid any of those advertising in the adds. I don't care for these heavy handed tactics. -
Well done. Great concept. Definitely would be a fun ride. We love to see one full size.

Love it. Nicely done. Restyling rather than over the top customizing. You definitely should do a stock one to put with it. Well executed.

Dan thanks for the information. One question do you tack the temporary buckheads in for easy removal?

Super Glue questions
bobthehobbyguy replied to NOBLNG's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You really don't want to use superglue and baking soda as filler. The baking soda can absorb moisture and expand and grow. Its better to use micro balloons with superglue. -
Absolutely killer project. Amazing scratchbuilding. Some questions on your process. How do draw your plans? How do you cut out the panels?

True if someone offered the right price Blitz would be foolish not to see. However Blitz first priority was to get a new distribution network setup. That wasn't part of the deal. A large part of the sale was exixting product. Second was to get the ready to go projects to market to get a revenue stream going. To me that's a no brainer. We can't be sure what the next plans are becuase they may just be in the research phase. We wouldn't here anything until that are quite along the process. Besides as said I'm sure the virus has impacted their plans. We really need to be patient and see what happens. Lets avoid negative speculation. I'm hoping that Blitz does go8d thinga and we get some exciting new models.

Redneck Bass Boat
bobthehobbyguy replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I guess if you want different its fine. Don't see it as that practical for a boat. An awful lot of work to be different. -
Foose Mach 1
bobthehobbyguy replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the camaro tailights work , i think its more their origin that bother people. Personlly the other tailights shown don't work for me. Think the color works also. Would want to see the wheels in person before I make a decision on them. That's my opinion. It's really all very subjective. In the end the only person that has to like it was the one who commisioned to have it done. -

Foose Mach 1
bobthehobbyguy replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One thing that gets overlooked in these discussions. The customer choose the final end result. A discussion was had for what they wanted and several designs were presented and this was the choice. Same applies to the wheels. Its not what we want or even what Foose wanted but its what the customer wants. -
American Pickers
bobthehobbyguy replied to Chuckyg1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use to enjoy American Restoration. There was some interesting content. However then it was dumbed down and the the stuff of value was removed for horse play and other silliness. Unfortunately meaningful content is expensive and won't necessary entertain the mindless masses. Regardless of the subject its the same mindless dreck designed to be "entertainment" for the lowest common denominator. I refuse waste my time and money for such drivel. -
Nice group. Very nicely done.

Madliner: a 60 Starliner & Alternomad custom mash-up
bobthehobbyguy replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Wow. Impressive. Nicely done. Great design. -
Nice start. Definitely following along. Great project. As far as your work situation. Fired implies termination for cause. You were laid off. Mostly likely it was you were making too much money and benefits and nothing based on your past performance. Besides do you want to work for a company that lied that there were not going to be changes. Definitely not ethical people.

Canyonlands junk cars - diorama idea
bobthehobbyguy replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Definitely a cool project. If done properly it would be impressive. Bonus points for using warped promos and badly damaged kits. Reminds me of some posters of junkyards in street rodder magazine that would have made some impressive dioramas. -
