  1. Both your trucks are pretty neat.. but I sure hope someone in the aftermarket offers a corrected grille soon...Those huge headlight doors really bug me.
  2. Mine came today.. .it's about the same size as Monograms 37 Ford sedan. Molded in white.. No opening hood or engine (it would be a very big project to open the hood and add all the underhood parts and structure) Full chassis detail. Poseable steering. Very nice tires and wheels (but no lug or hub detail on the wheels) It's right-hand drive but that could be changed pretty easily. Photo-etched hood emblem. Pretty darn nice for $23...
  3. I got my Toyota today..took longer to leave Japan than usual and longer to get from SFO too. But it's very nice!
  4. Thank goodness he waited for an answer from an experienced modeler huh? To me, wiping it off seems a good deal easier than your "idea" and far less likely to ruin his glass....
  5. No it wasn't a "rumor"...Tower Hobbies showed it as "discontinued" for the last few days. It apparently was an error.
  6. Tower now says "limited supply" maybe (even with the comments about the missing guards) it's nearly a sell-out? Of course after all the "whining" about the chopped Mustang look what happened....they issued a 2nd version! (apparently still "chopped") Try not worry (or to blame) folks....
  7. I hadn't noticed the MONOGRAM labeling until you mentioned it in your video... nice review.
  8. Old Car Brochures is an excellent source of pictures and specs for all American cars thru 1996.
  9. In the YEAR 2000? In order to save maybe 1 hour of gross wages (if you made any less you wouldn't have qualified for a loan in the 1st place) ? I don't think I knew any adults making less than $20/hr back then (let alone now)...but we all have different experiences in life.
  10. My last comment on this idea... $15 off a $20000+ car? I still gotta think it was the appearance of the "spoiler" not the cost. Thier focus groups and/or dealer/customer feedback probably lead to the "delete offer". Or maybe it was "all" those guys who wanted a "sleeper" to fool/impress whoever..could you delete all the "GT" appearance stuff and still get whatever made it a "GT"?
  11. I keep hoping they'll "fix" 48 coupe... there were two nice resin coupes (long door n short door) bodies from Perry's years ago but I don't think they're still available
  12. Those kind of cars have never interested me and they sold very poorly where I live so I have no real exposure to them. As always though,it's ok we don't agree
  13. I would assume they were deleted because it looked kinda silly to a lot of people vs. people trying to save $15. Strikes me as a totally different situation....
  14. no it's the only 48 coupe they make... (the convertible kit can be and it's very nice tho)
  15. The coupe is chopped n dechromed...building it stock would be a major undertaking.
  16. Maybe Moebius doesn't have deep enough pockets to fully finish thier products before they release them?
  17. "Seeing this thing go through its various contortions from mockup to production has been a real eye-opener for me." Yes it was..I only wish they had someone more familar with these pickups review the kit before putting it into production. Maybe it's time to re-think doing the kits in China?
  18. I have "gravity" here too Chuck...but I sometimes touch/move my models and I like them to stay in one piece when I do. I've wanted a kit of this truck for decades now...and I'm kinda disappointed in this kit. While it's certainly better than nothing, I wish they'd done a better job.
  19. I don't know Bob...it's probably one of those special order rear bumper guard delete cars. God only knows why anyone would go to the bother of doing that but....just to save 1% off the price of the car, maybe?
  20. I agree Joe..but that's not the context I responded to.
  21. This kind of "attitude" irks me... .you're pleased someone died huh? God help you....
  22. my hood fits ok...but there's nothing to hold it in place. Again, it's my impression that this kit needed further "refinement" before they released it.
  23. No review but Hobby Search has pictures of all the parts and the instuctions.(its much cheaper to import it from Japan too) Looks like a very nice full detail model...hard to go wrong with a Tamiya kit...
