  1. So you are "irked" by your own behavior? You are the only "troll" I've seen on here today. Calling people names and attempting to insult people who didn't even address you is what YOU have been doing. WHY are YOU being the very thing YOU complain about? If you can't tolerate views other than those you have or share, why bother even reading?
  2. I was as much surprised at their response as I was disappointed.. I've made a trade for bumpers with a board member with the opposite problem, so it's ok for (just) us now. In the meanwhile, I'm busy sanding off all the extra trim that also didn't match the box art. But even with these issues (and the too wide headlight doors and turn signals that can't be easily fixed) I'm still happy to have the kit..... most people,I think, will like these kits ...and hopefully future variations will address some of the minor problems with the kit and how it's packaged.
  3. RE: the missing stock bumper from the 69 F100... .I contacted Moebius.... they say they have nothing to do the the Model King version (!) I sent an e-mail to Mr. Burket (Model King) but recieved no response. Moebius WILL however sell me the bumper from the 71 for $2.95 ! Do companies that refuse to provide what their products clearly claim to contain deserve our $$? I am very disappointed that they intend to operate in this fashion.....
  4. A wise choice...enjoy!
  5. yes. it's basically the same as the sedan kits.... note it includes the supercharged motor from the stock car version.
  6. FYI The 69 F100 box art shows and mentions that it has 3 bumpers, front, rear and an aftermarket step bumper. The box contains only the front bumper and the step bumper, no stock rear bumper. Moebius declines any responsibility for a "Model King kit" but will SELL the missing bumper for $2.95! I e-mailed Mr. Burket (model king) but so far no response....anyone else bothered by this?
  7. Hmm.. do you even know what a "promo" is? Why would you assume they couldn't look as good as any other model?
  8. I do appreciate the offer...I know a few guys who got the 69s who might be interested in a swap, I'll ask around.
  9. Thanks...but I fully expect Moebius to provide the bumper "promised" on the box. I just sent them a polite e-mail requesting the "promised" bumper. I'll post their response....
  10. Yes I remember the Olds issue ...I don't think the F100 problem was a "mistake" (except in judgement) but I'm confident Moebius will make it right if asked.
  11. A soak in Dawn got rid of the odd smell...the texture is "distracting" but of little consequence apparently. The painted headlite doors on the 71 seem to negate the problem I'm precieving on the 69. This is the second Moebius kit in a row to have parts shown on the box that differ from. what's in the box...a practice I'd like to see ended.
  12. Yes Jeff, that's the one shown on the 69 box too but it's not shown in the instuctions and it's NOT in the box. I think Moebius should offer to provide the bumper shown on the box for those of us who want what we paid for......
  13. I see these trucks everyday...hard to ignore some features...the headlights themselves look fine but the housings look too big. The box art refers to an "optional" rear bumper but my kit only has one rather clunky looking step-bumper,no factory style bumper as shown in the box art,the instructions show only the "optional" step bumper. The box also says "chrome bumperS" plural but only the front one is plated. So I'm assuming mine is NOT simply "missing" the other bumper. If it's shown ON the box, it should be IN the box. Moebius should provide both bumpers if they're gonna claim they are included...imo The shift linkage on the 3spd is for a floor shifter and I believe the hubcaps are for a F250 (not positive). I guess "we" weren't quite critical enough about the test shots they provided... it's too bad, they came very close to a A+ kit,but settled for a B-/.C+ instead.
  14. I've heard of severe fish-eye problems with poorly cleaned 54 Hudsons...but simple cleaning as you suggest seemed to fix that problem. Mines soaking in Dawn as I write this..I'll report back if that isn't enough to clean it. Mine will get plenty of sanding to remove the non-base model trim, but I don't have to shorten the bed n frame or hunt up the 6/stick combo so it'll be ok. One other thing, the headlight surrounds look to be too big.? .
  15. I got my 69 today....most surfaces have a texture you can easily feel (like the Hudson? worse?) also the kit reeks of some sort of oil-like smell, but nothing feels oily but I got the smell on my fingers after handling it...so it'll need a good cleaning before anything else. To build a base truck, I'll have to remove a lot of trim, not hard but kinda tedious. Overall, I'd give it a B+ assuming I won't need to sand every inch of it before painting it.... Is polishing the molds too expensive nowadays? I would like them to discontinue producing "textured" kits....
  16. That's *very* easy to fix... you simply replace it.
  17. White (rubber?) running boards? Obvious decals on the tires? Glue showing in several places? Gaps between the body n fenders? Looks like you got in too big a hurry and didn't really plan it out very well..... maybe next time huh?
  18. While it's certainly not a deal breaker (I already have mine) to me it's more of a mystery in that removing them entirely seems like a lot more work than simply shortening them a bit.... I do wish it had separate 'guards though, it looks great on 57s to leave them off.
  19. Tim never seems to feel the need to be rude or insulting to those he clearly disagrees with....he doesn't go on paranoid-flavored rants either. Why not try expressing yourself like a healthy adult?
  20. It also has all the supercharger parts from the stock car version.... BTW some ad said it had custom wheels and disc brakes, it does NOT. It has lots of police/sheriff decals, a big siren, radio a spotlight and a gumball red light 4 the roof. It's a nice kit...just like the sedan version.
  21. poor Tom. It's gotta be tough being him. Get well soon Tom.
  22. The rear bumper guards do two things...they "guard" the back of the car AND they provide a place to mount the lights that illuminate the lic. plate. Google 57 ford wagon rear bumper guards. I believe there was also a third style that were used on Rancheros. So ALL 57 Fords had to have rear plates that had to be illuminated so they all had bumper guards (except top of the line Fairlanes which did it another way).... I have the kit,so I'm not "guessing", there are no bumper guards in the box.
  23. Removing the rear bumper guards instead of correcting them kinda bugs me.. .(now if they'd removed the fronts to match, that would've been fine with me) .but including the supercharger parts makes up for it....almost. I bought one and look forward to building it...even with the "incorrect" deletion of the rear guards.
