  1. They have all kinds of masters from tiny parts to bodies....those are far more likely to be sold than the name or "instructions" (?). What are those masters worth? They'd only be worth "alot" in the form of a turn key business, and I doubt that will be the case. Who said the business was for sale anyway? I assumed the 2 year advisory they gave was to inform us that they were ending the venture. Your comments seem odd fseva since you've apparently never seen let alone purchased any of their products.....
  2. From thier website..... We make to order. Due to increased orders in response to our announced retirement in May 2017, please allow 4-12 weeks for delivery.
  3. Finding someone with their skills and ethics might be even harder to find than the $$. Their competition is already minimal and they aren't the only casters who are at or near retirement ages. It's not a hobby type business either.....a friend of mine has done many of Don's masters but he has zero interest in going into the casting business, just for an example.
  4. Very nice! One of my favorite kits.
  5. It's a copy of the Johan promo from 1960...uses the interior n chassis from their 62. Somewhat oversized imo.
  6. That NOT what he wrote....do you know what a 58 Ford even looks like?
  7. No the Revell and MPC doors all "end" at the sill (not the frame)...Bill's not finished fixing the AMT Vicky body, that's why the door "ends" too early. You might want to Google some pics of real 32's so you know what they are supposed to look like...
  8. LOL not likely Frank...
  9. It didn't "change" scales....same kit but with an error on the box on the version you're asking about. Thier excellent snapper kit is 1/25th. Pays to read the whole thread.....
  10. I can't think of any reason one issue would be harder to assemble than the others. It really couldn't be an easier kit to build imo.
  11. Don's kits are very nice, however some require more effort than others because they are more complicated, for a first try I would suggest modelers with limited experience try one that is a direct repop of the original Amt kits, with a tub interior and a closed hood and one piece chassis. The 58 Fords mentioned above would be a good one to start with. However, if you're having trouble assembling regular kits, it might be an expensive disappointment tho.....
  12. That separate roof would be a deal breaker for me.....in addition to the windows looking all wrong too. Of course if someone doesn't know what a 32 really looks like, they probably wouldn't notice or care....
  13. The only chopped (and easily buildable) accurate 5 window body is from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland and it fits the Revell 32s just fine. No "hacking" required.
  14. Check out the Old Car Brochures web site. They cover each of those years.
  15. Revell says it does...
  16. I'd far prefer to get kits of these cars in stock(ish) form and make my own "customs".... especially the F100, the 35 Chevy and the Cadillac. But I guess that's not where they want to go.
  17. It's from the 60's like the 49 Merc you decided you weren't interested in... might be too hard to build for someone used to more "recent" models like yourself.
  18. The 41 Plymouth was from a much earlier period...otherwise your list seems ok.
  19. yep, Rob is right..very simple to build re-issues of 60's AMT kits. Perfect for beginners...or veteran builders.
  20. Most,if not all, recent Merc kits are 1/24. I can't really think of any that would make good parts cars for a realistic street rod.
  21. The "Challly"??? How would you pronounce that?
  22. "You know - if you make things any more hostile and wasteful of my time, I'll be happy to have you close down my account!" LOL...you need to be needed here before such childish threats could be at all meaningful...time to grow up son.
  23. Maybe they are supposed to look like they do, just like the stenciled lettering on the 1-1 tires (did you try looking them up on the web?)... why would your local retailer know what they're "supposed" to look like? Where's a picture of the tires you *think* are wrong?
