56 Ford work truck
mike 51 replied to Maxicoop's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Sorry but it's a 55 by monogram.... .no where near as nice as the AMT 53 but a lot better than the Revell 56. The good news is that the AMT 53 will be reissued later this year...it's the only one of the three that actually looks just like the real one. -
'54 Chevy kit... Is it any good..?
mike 51 replied to Ramfins59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'd love to see an up to date 54 chevy....a Bel Air hardtop...210 sedan...or a wagon. Maybe Revell will try again? -
Polar Lights makes that VW not Revell.... Do you have any pics of the parts in that kit?

I'm going to buy one....to go with my 429 Vette. .

Revell Ed Roth 57 Bel Air - Suddenly It's 1963!
mike 51 replied to Karl LaFong's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Re: the 56 F100 sales... that's amazing. But your explaination makes sense... and the pick-up is even worse to me ,especially compared to AMT's 53. (and one I'd love to see re-done) -
Revell Ed Roth 57 Bel Air - Suddenly It's 1963!
mike 51 replied to Karl LaFong's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
No thanks....I remember the original one clearly enough to pass on this one. It strikes me as odd that they even bothered given the numerous better 57s readily availble. They may even be risking their reputation since people unfamilar with this kit are likely to be very disappointed. -
Does Revell spend enough on model car magazine advertising to exert that kind of editorial influence? The various web sites seem to allow very "frank" reviews of ALL the manufacturers. Not interested in starting a debate..just curious.

I live here too.. I attempted to make a joke and failed.. it seems odd to make a statement about something you can't clearly see on your phone withoout mentioning why you couldn't tell it was a '58. But I am sorry,I meant no offense.

Some people from Redding are known to frequently have trouble understanding what they see or hear....it's an unsolved mystery...so far.

What would it take, beyond the right grille,to back date that kit to a 72 ? TIA -
Nice work..The selection of cars in that scale is amazing,.I wish I could build 1/43 th scale but they're just too small for me.

I seem to recall a claim that the Chinese were "copying" Ford trucks....Never saw a picture, don't know if it was true. -
MENG 1/24 Ford F350 Super Duty Crew Cab: Sneak Peek Pics!
mike 51 replied to Gregg's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
In my neck of the woods...these trucks (and similar GMs n Rams) are used primarily as "passenger cars".......think conspicious consumption? Perhaps Gregg has a similar exprience, thus the "mistake" seems more "excusable"......to me. -
