  1. The "display stand" pen holder is in all the Prestige kits. I'll check the contents later today.
  2. Interesting, I never looked at the year on the instructions, just took it out of the box. This is the kit I have (should be original). The instruction sheet number on mine does not match the one you got from Scalemates. I don't have an original 68 to compare to but do have a 67 and 68
  3. I'll check my kit tomorrow to see what is in it as compared to instructions. Maybe that set refers to the Parts Pack Corvair Engine?
  4. My list would be too long to display but does include some of what is already shown above.
  5. These are the instructions plus 2 additional sheets in the box.
  6. Know what you mean. After over 40 years in computing, I can tell you many war stories about various types of learning/reasoning techniques that needed vast data bases to scan to INFER an answer. AI is no different, just the technology has evolved. Just like we can have a "False" or mistaken memory (as time flies the neuron paths rearrange), so can AI Didn't this guy become self-aware in 1996 or thereabouts?
  7. Back at this as time permits. I selected VW custom wheels and different tires. The wheels are from Diolex and 3D printed. I cleaned them, then primered, and coated with Revell Chrome Spray. I did drill out for the eventual air valves. Looking at reference data of the 1:1, there are a set of bolts attaching the body to the altered VW Beetle chassis. I marked these and drilled them out in the body and the chassis. I will be using resin bolts and nuts to mimic the “hardware” and give a more realistic look. I chose to paint the body Testors Electric Pink and will use Mr. Hobby Black Primer for the lower part of the body. Here you see it painted in the base coat, awaiting the clear coat and lower body color. I assembled the engine as I usually do, adding wiring, fuel lines and linkage. I needed to do a little “surgery” to get the Webel Carb Air Cleaners to clear the body shell. For the suspension, I went into the parts stash again and fitted Replicas and Miniatures finned brake drums, adapting them for the wheels. I chose Drum brakes all around instead of disks because I felt it would better fit the period of the vehicle. I am not totally wild about the straight rod simulating the drive axles (no boots) but decided to leave as is. Will add the resin bolts to the chassis and then put aside until I paint the body and attach them. Still deciding on the interior; rear seat or tonneau cover or open with battery exposed.
  8. I'm going to assume IT confused it with the 275 GTB (totally different animal).
  9. Great to trade with you as well
  10. I've used him to order Ray's decals and he takes care of all the hassles. Knowing the time lags, I try to order well in advance of when my need will be. But I have enough unbuilt on the shelves to keep me occupied.
  11. Yes, it is the Replicas and Miniatures body. I don't have the original kit body, but the remainder and the R&MofM pieces. The parts even include an extra driver sider rear fender with a scribed gas cap door. I checked Norm's 2024 catalog, and it is no longer there. I doubt I will be building this, so if interested, PM me as to possible trade.
  12. I think so. He does not have it in his 2024 catalog. I checked last night. I'll pull out the kit from the stash later this AM. It is unbuilt and I have both the kit and resin body in it.
  13. I'll take a picture tomorrow, but I have a chopped 48 Ford Woody and trying to remember who did it. I've had it for a few years.
  14. Polish is the LAST thing you do and not meant to be painted over in modeling. In one case I had a model polished, and it got a ding in one area. I repaired the ding, thoroughly cleaned the model, touched up the area and then repolished. But that is not the norm.
  15. Not my interest area, but...
  16. As Bob said these paints were problematic from the get-go and the vendors did not last long. If you checked the labeling on the bottle it said from the Makers of House of Kolor. That is because these were Valspar paints and enamel. I got a few bottles free from the vendors at an IHobby show where they had a booth. I never had the chance to try them before the problems started getting posted on forums. I dumped them. At least I had no money invested in them. The vendor shut down after two-three years.
  17. Wallet is again safe for another month ?
  18. And I went down to the hobby room and pulled the AMT 62 and 64 T-Birds from the stash and just placed the custom parts on them that related to a couple of the pictures above. First, even though a 63 is shown in the 1:1 photo with a T-Top, that option is actually in the AMT 62 T-Bird Convertible (original not modern rendition). Then I pulled out the 64 parts and you see the fastback roof option and an all "glass" option in the same kit. Which came first? I don't know.
  19. To be clear, the instructions are from the 1960's releases, not the modern tool 1962 of the early 2000's. The 61 Tbirds (I don't have either convertible or Hardtop) had different custom options.
  20. Some of the TBird "what-ifs" have shown up in model kits or transkits. The above mentioned Kaucher Custom even though tied to the readily available at the AMT 62 mimics pretty close the 63 Italien. The photo of the 64 fastback is actually an option in the AMT 64 Tbird. And the AMT (original) 1962 T-Bird had a variation of that opening T-Top. I can dig out the unbuilt kits to photo them if anyone is interested.
  21. If you have this, you can get close in the model world
  22. Met my buddy, Mike Pearsall and we headed down to Canby Oregon for the annual Cutsforth's Car Show. It is the first time I've been to it. Since we moved back to Washington State, a variety of things have conspired me to miss it until now. What a show!!! Must have been at least 800 cars. There were quite a few I recognized from the recent Kings Cruise In and Ilani Car Show, but a lot more were there to be viewed. The weather also cooperated as we were cooler than usual and the previous day's rain (unusual in August) had pretty much stayed in the Cascades. Anyway, took a little over 220 photos (link below) and some pics in the post to give an idea of what is in the album Link to Album

  23. You cannot adjust the pressure on these. I have one (not the one you have) that I replaced the brush with my Iwata HP-CS. You need to thin the paint to fit pressure. This may not be optimal for some paints. I use lacquers in my brush and have not any issues yet. I use mine for mainly chassis, small parts, light touch ups and odd jobs. I also have a Slientaire compressor that I use when I need to set the pressue and run longer times.
