Went to this cruise in North of Vancouver proper. About 200+ cars on the grounds. Some pretty interesting ones and some not so much. Took about 220 photos. Something interesting for just about anyone (except perhaps exotics or race car fans). Album link is below along with some photos from the show. Link to Photo Album

Got the diecast as well. Which is why the Mod Rod remains unbuilt in the stash. The diecast is pretty good.

Since you reopened this, I too looked at it when it came out. But I am lucky enough to have an original (with all the parts) still unbuilt today. Sad thing is even the reissue box art was the same. Pic is of the orignial

Does Tamiya Flat Yellow?
Exotics_Builder replied to Jim N's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you're asking if Tamiya does a Flat Yellow. Yes, in bottle Lacquer or acrylic. If a shaker can, I have not seen one. Revell does sell a shaker can of Matt Yellow Acrylic Paint. Have not used it, so can't tell you how good it is. Scale Finishes, MCW and Splash Paints offer various racing colors that you also could explore. But again, these would be airbrush (I do not think MCW offers shaker can option anymore). -
You want the PDF version instead? Or do the JPG's work?

A few items (some might call it an eclectic mix) have shown up in the last few days, the latest yesterday. Just had some time to photo them this AM

Tamiya sells a decal adhesive that I have used on older decals. That might be an option on the technique you described. I have not tried it though.

I have not seen any reply from you on the PM. So, the kit is going back to the sale stash. I indicated I was interested in a trade. Wants would be some sort of muscle car. The latest Revell issue AAR Cuda would be a nice choice. But I am mainly a GM person.

The only Enthusiast Series Fujimi BMW's I am aware of are the 635 series. The 3 Series and 5 Series are curbside, although I did do a ton of work to make a US spec detailed M5 about 30 years ago. Some of the Enthusiast (EM kits) have also been issued in curbside form, like the Ferrari Dinos. You get pretty much everything but the detailed engine and engine bay. You pretty much need to research the Fujimi model you're interested in to see if it has the clarity, accuracy and detail you want. For example, even the newish Fiat 695 Ferrari Tributo has some incorrect interior parts.

I did reply that I did and gave some options.

New Project – Revell 1969 Camaro Pace Car
Exotics_Builder replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well, the decals I purchased off eBay went on fine but two days later, the color was splotched in several places. Not sure why as I followed the directions. I tried a mist of clear coat to see if it would even out, but no luck. Stripped them and back to square one on the stripes. Will either try to create my own decal from the Revell sheet (I have the RGB code for Hugger Orange) or mask off and airbrush the color. -

Supercharged LT4
Exotics_Builder replied to BKIN10SECS's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
None that I am aware. The Gen 5 ZL1 Camaro from Revell came with the LSA/LS9 Engine, but no LT4 in a kit. Iceman Collections does sell a nicely detailed 3D print LT4 though. https://icemancollections.com/products/chevy-lt4-supercharged-engine-1-24-1-25?_pos=1&_sid=76603e4ee&_ss=r -

Our town had a downtown car show yesterday afternoon. Perfect day for it. Temperatures in the upper 70's (although some humidity which is unusual for this time of year) and mostly sunny. Our town sits on the banks of the Columbia and Washougal Rivers and about 15 miles east of downtown Vancouver WA and 20 miles from downtown Portland OR. Several good ideas for modeling projects. New Project – Revell 1969 Camaro Pace Car
Exotics_Builder replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Small diameter plastic rod I bent and drilled for the spool wire that goes into the header. Next time around I plan on making the connectors a bit shorter. I think they came out too long. I carved out the muffler from Evergreen rectangular rod, drilling the three vents. This was the first attempt, and I went back and redid it.
