  1. And I went down to the hobby room and pulled the AMT 62 and 64 T-Birds from the stash and just placed the custom parts on them that related to a couple of the pictures above. First, even though a 63 is shown in the 1:1 photo with a T-Top, that option is actually in the AMT 62 T-Bird Convertible (original not modern rendition). Then I pulled out the 64 parts and you see the fastback roof option and an all "glass" option in the same kit. Which came first? I don't know.
  2. To be clear, the instructions are from the 1960's releases, not the modern tool 1962 of the early 2000's. The 61 Tbirds (I don't have either convertible or Hardtop) had different custom options.
  3. Some of the TBird "what-ifs" have shown up in model kits or transkits. The above mentioned Kaucher Custom even though tied to the readily available at the AMT 62 mimics pretty close the 63 Italien. The photo of the 64 fastback is actually an option in the AMT 64 Tbird. And the AMT (original) 1962 T-Bird had a variation of that opening T-Top. I can dig out the unbuilt kits to photo them if anyone is interested.
  4. If you have this, you can get close in the model world
  5. Met my buddy, Mike Pearsall and we headed down to Canby Oregon for the annual Cutsforth's Car Show. It is the first time I've been to it. Since we moved back to Washington State, a variety of things have conspired me to miss it until now. What a show!!! Must have been at least 800 cars. There were quite a few I recognized from the recent Kings Cruise In and Ilani Car Show, but a lot more were there to be viewed. The weather also cooperated as we were cooler than usual and the previous day's rain (unusual in August) had pretty much stayed in the Cascades. Anyway, took a little over 220 photos (link below) and some pics in the post to give an idea of what is in the album Link to Album

  6. You cannot adjust the pressure on these. I have one (not the one you have) that I replaced the brush with my Iwata HP-CS. You need to thin the paint to fit pressure. This may not be optimal for some paints. I use lacquers in my brush and have not any issues yet. I use mine for mainly chassis, small parts, light touch ups and odd jobs. I also have a Slientaire compressor that I use when I need to set the pressue and run longer times.
  7. As stated above. They are cut individually for each side and must be conformed to the cowl induction bulge. It is a pain to get to lay flat and get out any bubbles. The cowl hood is the only bad part. The stripes on the trunk do lay over the spoiler and can be nudged in.
  8. I am not familiar with that transkit but usually if a panel is included it is a replacement not a cover. You could always email Misha for details. He usually responds pretty quick (allowances for him being in Ukraine). He also posts often on Facebook.
  9. Here's the MPC BFG Tires. Looks like 20/32" inside diameter to lip. I got 21/32 with my digital caliper trying not to stretch and the ruler shows around 20 (maybe 21). I then took some AMT/Revell/MPC wheels out of the parts bin and put them in the tires for comparison. In the last shot you can see the oversize embossed lettering on the tires.
  10. You've seen enough photos of the box so I won't repeat, but I got the Revell C8 Couple yesterday
  11. I'll measure the set from the 69 MPC Camaro later this AM for reference. But I have to say those John Wick tires look the best option if reasonably accurate tread.
  12. Those are in my parts bin, yet to be used. Len, I do have a MPC 69 Camaro that has the BFG tires if you don't have them. I won't be using them. I am either unloading the kit or using it as a parts donor, likely the later.
  13. Model Builder Warehouse. Sad too because Randy carried a lot of interesting inventory.
  14. This is some of the MRC sets, never did BFG as far as I know
  15. I have a set of those ARII BFG's and have only used them on street trucks. IMO, they are not sized for autos. Too tall and too wide. If you'd like I can photo the dimensions?
  16. Drove up to Ilani resort/casino today for the annual car show. A little lighter this year on attendance. Wondering if the threat of severe weather and the I-5 construction north of there put a damper on attendees. We did get the severe weather (very unusual out here west of the Cascades) but not till around 5:00 PM. Anyway, took some photos (link below) especially of the several C8 Corvettes there. Since the Revell kit is just out, this hopefully will perk the imagination. Link to Show Album
  17. I do have two kits, so I can trade one off. Kit is unbuilt. If interested, PM with what you have to offer.
  18. This kit? If yes, I'll check the stash and confirm that I still have an extra.
  19. Sure is. Randy had a lot of interesting products. And great to deal with.
  20. Stopped off at a small swap meet today and got these for a very decent price.
  21. He closed. I recollect him saying he could not get reliable replenishments on a lot of the products.
  22. Car transporter trailer is likely the only one that has my interest.
  23. I prefer full detail, including engine. But some subjects are only available as curbside. If I want the model, I just have to "bite the bullet" and get the less detail. A lot of resin kits that are curbside are extremely difficult to modify for full detail and I usually say no to wanting to do it.
  24. Usually Mr Finishing Surface Black 1500 Primer, followed by Tamiya Tire Black. Then if needed, will do a semi-gloss clear. If decaling a tire, then after the black, I apply gloss clear then decal then semi-gloss or flat clear depending on the tire.
