  1. The definition of artistry and craftsmanship are well defined in this thread. Amazing work, congratulations Sir, you have earned the accolades.
  2. Sounds like fun and an interesting build. But where in the world do you get paint for that price?
  3. Darn, I always thought XL stood for extra large.
  4. And all God's children said Amen.
  5. Just my opinion but to much chrome detracts from the build.
  6. Considering the fact that this post got 24 answers I just thought I'd let you know it's back up and running. Sorry Harry.
  7. In the tips section someone mentioned plastic shoe boxes with lids as storage containers. I figured for a buck each I couldn't go wrong. Went to Wal-Mart and bought ten of them and have been going through boxes separating things. I have a lot more than I thought I had. Parted out a few kits, messed up somewhere on them, oh well. Thanks to this Forum, another satisfied customer.
  8. I was having the same problem myself.
  9. I posted on that other site my question about building a stash. One of the guys sent me this link, http://newtsboneyard.com/home I checked it out and, wow, I'm impressed. Thought I'd share with my friends here on MCM.
  10. There are times at work when I must draw up a print for a camshaft or crankshaft using Auto-Cad. If I put in the correct information the print is correct. If not then it is wrong. Stupid computer only does what I tell it to do.
  11. That is one well built 32 Vicky. Looks great.love the colors.
  12. I have been a machinist for over 35 years and was taught the old school way. Use a lathe for turning, a mill for milling. Of course I'm talking about a bridgeprot Series two mill.
  13. I have only been back building models for about a year now. There have been times when I would have liked to add, spotlights or change the engine to something else. How do I build up this stash of parts without buying and cannibalizing the kit? I build mostly 1940 to 1969 cars and trucks. Dumb question I know but I am curious.
  14. I use a 12 mega-pixel Nikon with a tri-pod. I post pictures from Photo-Bucket
  15. After my usual pot of coffee it would be anything with wheels from the late twenties to the late sixties. 1 to 1 or models, doesn't matter.
  16. I have the same kit here though it was started and set aside, paint issues. I will be watching this build. Color choices sound good.
  17. that sure does look good. Did the kits actually come with the fuel line and hoses or are they aftermarket?
  18. It has been quite awhile since I bought a rather large order but t the end of next month I will purchase a large number of kits from jimnohio.
  19. The Taig and Shurline lathes and milling machines are good quality machines that will last a long time. The main thing to remember is that turrets, tool holders, collets, and other tooling that you will need are often priced out separately. I myself would go with one as large as finances would allow. It is much better to have to much capacity than not enough. Check this out http://www.micromark.com/Machine-Tools.html
  20. A lathe gives you possibilities that just can not be done on a milling machine. Turning rims is just one example.
  21. Boy, does that ever bring back memories.
  22. I have read every post on this car and yes I will buy one. Why? I liked the Ford Falcons. A little more than I want to pay for a kit, yes. But then I don't like 4.00 for a gallon of gas either.
  23. I went through the knee brace and pain meds several months ago. Never was sure what happened, just knew I went down. Knee replacement is in my future but Dr.wants to wait as long as we can. Goof luck, my friend.
  24. I use a lot of my wife's Lock and Lock containers. All different sizes and a secure locking lid. Just don't tell her, she's always losing those darn things.
