There were no test shots released at the time when Round 2 announced they were bringing back the MPC 68 Coronet kit. This was around 08, when the news came out. They never proceeded with the release. I read that Round 2 did locate the molds/tooling and actually tried doing a shot, but found there was missing sections. Maybe someone in the know could shed a little more light as to what Round 2 found. I vividly remember the announcement on the Spotlight Hobbies message board. Also, I remember that Tower Hobbies had it listed as a future release with a picture of the MPC 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T hardtop box. A lot of people were very disappointed when Round 2 cancelled it. That was a kit that was going to sell very well. I hope sometime in the near future Round 2 will produce this kit. We all have been waiting a long time time for this one.

Looks like everything was ok. I got on the site. Any idea when we will see pics of the AMC Rebel? -

Maybe there is someone you know that can fix the problem for you. It could very well be a situation where a lot of people can't access your website and see pics of the resin items you have. I saw your Fotki or Photobucket site. Can you put pics of the 69' AMC Rebel there and some of your other resin items with prices so at least those that cannot access the website, can instead, see the items on your picture site? -

Tried clicking on the link for your website. It's not working. -
There definetly is a need for pics. But, their products are nothing short of outstanding. I've bought from Modelhaus at the NNL east. Their castings are as good or better than castings from the modelcar manufacturers.

Came across this MPC order form showing a picture of the 68' Coronet being modeled and prepared for production. Very interesting to see some of the process of what was done to get kits into production. What do the companies do with large scale mockups after the kit has finished it's production run? It was a dissapointment to all when 5 years ago , there was an announcement that the 68 Coronet was going to come out again but then was cancelled. I sure hope that Round 2 will go ahead reissue this kit. Never say never, we have seen vintage kits that we thought would never come out again and sure enough they did come out. Maybe the 68 will be on the hobby shop shelves again.

So What does Revell Have up Their Sleeves?
GMP440 replied to tabsscale1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I hope Revell has an all new 1/25 scale kit of the 68' Dodge Coronet R/T up their sleeves. -
I found an extra chrome reverse wheel from my old Opel GT kit that I broke back in the day. Yes, there were 4 of those reverse wheels that came in the kit back in the day. According to the instructions, the reverse wheels were for the drag car option.

I bought the kit today. I was impressed by the organized layout of the box contents. However, I am not a big fan of the flat box. It has all the parts just as it did when this was out back in 71' and 72', when I last built this kit. I don't remember back then having a third style hood. As mentioned earlier in this thread , there is only one chrome reverse wheel. Wonder if Round 2 spotted this. Also, there was mention of a little flashing not trimmed from the windshield frame. That's an easy fix. Some costs would have been saved if they used the smaller regular size model box and not included the artwork. Those two things would have been the only changes I would have made to the kit. It's an excellant kit. I'll have fun building this one.

Lets see pics of your original buildup MPC Coronet R/T's if you have one.

Here are two built ups that I have. These are the way I got them. The silver one I got in 93'. Someone had put the custom grill and hood. The black one I got a few months ago. Stock parts on that one. -
Johan will always be a mystery to all. Does anyone on this board know any of the ex-employees that worked at Johan? Those are the people that can really give us the true story of the inner workings going on at Johan. Would love to read their firsthand accounts about the day to day operations.

Very interesting photos. Had no idea that the molds were small. Were there more than one mold for each car in order to have a good pace on production? They must not have done huge amounts of production like Revell, AMT , etc. Were Johan kits produced in small amounts compared to the other kit companies? Judging from the pics of the tables with the molds, looks like it was a messy and cluttered place to work at.

1/25 Revell '67 Dodge Coronet- Foose Edition
GMP440 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It's nice that they did a Foose styled 67' Coronet. However, not really the style of car for the execution. Had Revell done an all new 68' Dodge Coronet years ago instead of the 67' Coronet R/T; that would have been better suited as a Foose edition model. In my opinion a sleeker body with custom wheels . This would sell better than the 67'. Which brings me to another question. Does anyone know why Revell even chose to kit a 67' Coronet R/T instead of a 68'? How did they determine that the 67' was the year to go with?
