  1. Ok…the sidewalk. I believe this is available in 1/35. It needs a Hayabusa engine.
  2. I’m not a fan of unboxing, at least with models. The parts may look good, but we don’t know how well…or badly…they fit together.
  3. It’s cool to see a dog’s reaction to seeing snow for the first time. Lady (my Black Lab) was fascinated.
  4. Internet picture, but I got one off eBay last night. Oddball scale, but what a cool bike. I saw one years ago, I believe it was in a German magazine called Streetfighters. It was a custom , long and low, with a Ducati single sided swingarm and the fuel tank was two cylindrical tubes with an angled cut in each end and convex ends. I believe those were purple. I wish I could see that bike again.
  5. I never knew this existed until I saw one at a model contest swap meet…without the sidecar. I bought the bike. If someone can part with the sidecar and related parts, that would also work. Second pic is what I bought. Thanks, Lee
  6. A couple more German WWII planes. Both made by Trimaster in the late ‘80s. A Ta-152H-1; a high altitude version of the V-12 engine FW-190D. It had a longer fuselage and longer wings, among other changes. Also an FW-190A with radial engine. The box art is really good, but the Wine Red nose is incorrect. It was a misinterpretation of a black & white photo, so interesting in that way, but also these kits were really detailed. Sort of ahead of their time. Photoetched parts were included. Some had cast metal parts like landing gear. The company went out of business and some kits were reissued by DML/Dragon. The Ta-152 was also reissued by Italeri. All reissues eliminated the metal parts. I have heard that the Revell TA-154 “Moskito” was from Trimaster molds. Not 100% sure on that. Internet photos.
  7. I thought this ancient Greek battleship was cool, too. It’s an injection molded kit. I may look for one of these some day.
  8. “An act of mercy” WWI diorama of a French soldier rescuing a German soldier from quicksand in a shell crater. I heard about this on a podcast. It’s based on a photo of a real situation like this.
  9. A couple of really nice 1/24 low riders. Beautiful paint. Cool motorcycle, too.
  10. 1/8 scale Big T with modifications. The blower is from a parts pack. Does anyone know if was front mount in the parts pack, or was it modified for this application?
  11. The old Esci/Aurora/a couple of others…1/9 scale German WWII BMW sidecar rig with aftermarket rider, dog, and a few accessories. The whole aftermarket set is called “Ketten Hund” or Chain Dog. The dog is wearing a chain like a necklace, so I guess that’s where the name came from. It’s a very nice resin set.
  12. I only got a few photos. The theme for the contest was big scale. I like this sidecar rig. The builder pieced it together from other, unknown kits. I think that is pretty cool. The Protar racing sidecar is pretty cool, too.
  13. I looked in the book I got. There is a project called Entwurf mit BMW 802 and Einsitzer mit BMW 802. No mention of one with BMW P.8011, which would have been a BMW 802 with boost. So the proposed variant with 8011 and contra props may be an imaginary version of another plane that never left the drawing board.
  14. I couldn’t remember, so I did a search. I only saw it called FW Fighter Project with BMW 8011 engine. I know it is in a magazine special issue Called Luftwaffe 1946 or something like that. I have it at home. I’ll check later tonight. Now I’m wondering if it was invented on the internet.
  15. Oh yeah, the XP-55 with the engine in the back. It had a strange name, IIRC.
  16. I’m just looking for a sheet or plate for now. I had one that was roughly 3/4”x 7” x 12”. It was a cutoff from something a metal shop had in stock. I just want to tinker at first. I’m waiting to hear back from an eBay seller on combining shipping for two jeweler’s repousse hammers
  17. I just looked up what he used. It was a chunk of cast iron from a scrap yard. I think that would be hard to find, at least around here. Years ago I bought a piece of what I remembered as cold rolled steel. It was about 3/4” thick, but apparently CRS is not available that thick. So what would be good to use for hammering brass and copper? Thanks, Lee
  18. I love that wagon so much.
  19. Sedans…in general. I was always interested in hot rods and sports cars, but I’ve never had the money for a really wild car. I’m older now, and I really like a nice, comfortable ride. Three years ago I bought a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E with the idea of dropping in a boosted V-8. I found it’s just a great little car completely stock. I could see getting a pair of those Recaro seats that were so popular in the ‘80s, but that’s about it for mods.
  20. Can you recommend good videos for model cars? For armor models, Night Shift Models with Martin Kovac is really good. I can’t help thinking that he (and many other armor modelers) overdo the weathering. Boylei Hobby Time does really good dioramas. Some forced perspective, like a monster snapping turtle or snake. He does a lot of Imaginary Wild West; sort of steam punk meets old west. He’s really good at building scenery. Ebroin’s Miniatures has done some incredible underwater dioramas, including a submarine breaking up after getting hit by a depth charge and a DSRV lighting up the deck of a WWII German battleship (The Bismarck) on the ocean floor.
