  1. *Before I say anything, I have to mention that Texas 3D Customs/Charles Estes make great parts. I have several of his engines and they are beautiful. No warping, no “spilled jelly”, no awkwardly placed support structure. The little bumps are generally in areas that will not be seen after assembly. I have no reservations at all recommending his printed parts. I changed the thread title. It was asking if warped 3D parts can be corrected. I got a 1/8 scale Ferrari 365 Daytona engine off eBay. The block/crankcase, heads, and cam covers are all warped. Other parts may be as well. The crankcase is flat on the bottom and warped on top. I believe it’s a lost cause. I’m not going to try to mill the top flat and rebuild that. I would rather just scratchbuild the whole part. I’ll reach out to the seller and see if he will make this right. I don’t have warm fuzzy about this. If someone will send out bad parts, it’s likely a sign that they are not good at making the parts. I bought a complete show car kit that had big problems with the body, tires, and a few other parts. I contacted the seller and he sent more garbage. I don’t have time to re-engineer/rebuild junk. I threw it away. I’m not even giving away something like that. I don’t want to run anyone away from this great hobby.
  2. I ordered April, July, and October 1969 from EBay. What other issues had articles on it? Was there a Dodge Fever I? Thanks, Lee
  3. Cool plane, but I never saw them fly. I’m a plumber and I go into several houses a day. If I see anything that would indicate the homeowner was a military pilot, I’ll chat them up. One guy flew F-100 Wild Weasel missions over Vietnam. He said one time they went back to base with some rifle caliber bullet holes in the airframe. They had been flying at treetop level. They weren’t supposed to fly that low, but it was the only way they could listen to the football game on AFN radio. I met a guy who flew P-47s in WWII. A double ace. These guys have fascinating stories. If you’re not familiar with “Wild Weasel”, it was a plane that would fly ahead of fighters or bombers. If enemy ground radar locked on to the plane, they would follow the signal to its location and bomb/strafe it, so the other planes would not get shot down. It was such a dangerous mission that they only took volunteers.
  4. I don’t remember who sells them. I believe they are mirror image. Each pair is five bucks, except the biggest size. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Thanks, Lee

Can you post a link for that guy?
  6. I was planning to get an all new 1/16 model of a Leopard 2A7 tank, but that is also on hold.
  7. Wow. I would have sworn it was Tony Schumacher at 342 and change. Thank you.
  8. Not 1000 feet. I thought the record for 1320 was 342 mph. I’ve done an internet search and I keep getting results for Funny Car and 1000 foot records. This is related to the new record for Brittany Force. She ran 341.59 mph in her Top Fuel Dragster. This is amazing, considering the record for a longer track was 338 or 342 mph. Also amazing: Bob Tasca went 341.68 in a Nitro Funny Car. A long time ago, John Force said he thinks Funny Cars can go faster than dragsters. No one took him seriously.
  9. The 1/16 scale Henderson road bike “civil” version is €82.90. It sounds steep, but this thing is a little gem. There are lots of amateurs making and selling 3D parts. Andrea Cingolani is not one of them. https://cixmodels.com/2024/05/31/new-excelsior-four-cylinder-civil-version-scale-1-16/
  10. Oops
  11. Looks like it does
  12. If you have Facebook, you can send him a message there. If not, I’ll send you his e-mail address. https://m.facebook.com/search_results/?q=cixmodels+miniatures
  13. I had not heard that term before. I had to look it up. That is a cool idea.
  14. And a 1/12 engine. Maybe make a “what if” model; someone found a Henderson engine in a crate and built a new bike around it. Old style, of course. No 300mm rear tire for it .
  15. He also sells 3D printed animals. My mom has gotten into models. I got each of us a Whale Shark.
  16. This is so cool. The print quality is beautiful. It even has a few photoetched parts and decals.
  17. Got it here, too. Thanks
  18. The whole site gives a 404 Not Found. Kind of a bummer. I went there to check out a file for a Chevy LT5 engine.
  19. No, but there are couple of kits that might be that way if I bought them (or just one of them. They’re expensive). There’s a guy in Facebook who offers a Porsche 935 K3 and a 956 or 962 in 1/8 scale, 3D printed. I would want to make it into a road car. That would be a lot of work. They are about $1000 each.
  20. https://www.facebook.com/groups/aladdinmodel/permalink/441839632212613/ This post doesn’t mention scale or price
  21. The old AMT ‘63 Corvette does have an open face helmet.
  22. I found one that was close, and injection molded. It was a set of WWII ace pilots, including Johnny Johnson and his black lab. The lab was not included. Later issues mentioned on the box that the dog is not included. I guess they got a lot of complaints.
