  1. BTW- the driver figure from Tamiya's old 1/24 Lamborghini Countach would be ideal. He's wearing nomex + helmet and darn near laying down on his back.
  2. Sorry kiddo. Too late for that
  3. It's either bacon & eggs + Coca Cola or a couple of bagels w/ cream cheese and coffee.
  4. Do I want bacon & eggs for breakfast or a bagel & cereal?
  5. I think It's Candy Lime Gold.
  6. You don't have to be artistic. You just have to try. Don't worry if it doesn't work out on the first attempt. People who have been scratchbuilding for years still throw away lots of parts that don't work out the first time.
  7. Why does anyone else's opinion on the color mean anything?
  8. If you're talking about small diameter poly sleeves that go in the wheel center, I'd have someone turn some plastic replacements on a lathe.
  9. All this drama is just going to drive people away.
  10. We oughta get name tags for going to shows. We might have bumped into each other at the swap meet and never known it. I didn't get any cars at the swap meet; just airplanes. I got a 1/48 Kopro Su-7 and a pair of 1/72 racers from High planes; "Mr Awesome" Yak-11 with T-33 tail and "Critical Mass", the 4360-powered Sea Fury. I also got a lot of old backissues of Fine Scale Modeler and Scale Auto Enthusiast.
  11. I forgot my camera. You guys who went- did you see the black 1/10 chopper? The registration slip said it was scratchbuilt. He even went into detail about how he did it. The tires are "vacuformed rubber". Really? His vacuformer works with rubber, engraves crisp tread, AND puts in a mold parting line right down the center? That thing was a diecast that had been partially stripped and repainted. They should have booted that guy out of there. There was a 1/12 scale Aston Martin race car, but the finish was poor on it. Seemed like a light turnout this year.
  12. Not a typo. He's selling it for a friend, and he knows it's rare. It's an original issue with PURPLE LETTERING on the box. The one in the other link is a 1996 issue that does not have PURPLE LETTERING. But seriously- who cares? I paid $130 for my T-70, and <ahem> although I haven't started it yet, it is for building, not collecting.
  13. I got him a pair of Tamiya 1/32 Mini 4WD vehicles; a Jeep and a Mammoth Dump Truck. They are motorized, snap together kits. I helped him put them together. He had lots of fun doing that and of course playing with them. These vehicles:
  14. Mostly military, but some cars too. I'll take pics.
  15. Just a funny side note; on another forum someone asked this same question. I said that the Protar/ROG kit is a good deal for the money if someone didn't have $57 for the Fujimi. Some guy called me and anyone who agreed "apologists". Ugh. Apologists? Really?
  16. Wow. I've always wondered about the feasibility of that idea. Hmmm... My pleasure
  17. Where on Earth did you get cross-section drawings of a '69 Camaro? Did you cut up a model for it? Will you let someone copy the body to sell copies? That thing would be wild on top of arick's Pro/Street chassis.
  18. That's a cool project. Is that a Heller Mercedes-Benz body?
  19. There's another thread on here somewhere about this. Someone makes a 1/24 slot car that's really nice. It's about $50, IIRC.
  20. Well that is nifty. The panel delivery would be a great car for cross-country rod runs. Just make the back end like a mini-RV and you're all set. The Taxi would be a great rod for taking friends out.
  21. Is that a scratchbuilt conversion or was it molded like that??? Tell us more.
  22. ASTON MARTIN DBS???!!! Holy cow! I'm in for sure. In other news- more of the "Why didn't they make a 1974 boringmobile? I drove one to high school and I'd buy a case of 'em!". Ugh.
  23. I went to the model section and this was one of the first kits on the page. It had less than a minute to go and it was about 4 bucks. I quickly bid $10 but got outbid. With 13 seconds to go, I bid more and got it for $13. I have to admit, I'm not really into it. I sent an e-mail to Mark Gustavson to see if he wants it for the Model Car Museum. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160400317537
  24. I'm not familiar with that variant, but I do like unusual military vehicles. I'm interested in a trade. I don't keep a trade stash, so let me know what you're looking for.
