  1. I haven't been able to do that for awhile either. could have shared some needed information, too.
  2. it's a great age. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the improvements in the hobby since "back in the day".
  3. nice. where from the wheels?
  4. great find. I can't imagine dealing with a three part mix. somewhere back in time I remember an article using Silly Putty for the mold part and autobody tube putty for the casting. obviously not a production process, but if you broke or lost a kit part it would get you back in the game.
  5. that's quite a bit of detail for - when? - 1963/4? I remember buying AMT styline kits just to get the little tube of putty. much better than the plastic wood we were using, and LePage's liquid solder was .. well, let's say "not effective".
  6. not to be a wet blanket, but I don't recall such an abundance of cottage industry parts producers in the early 60s. this may have been why the parts packs went over so well. I understand the small guy cannot compete with a giant both in R&D and production, but there's plenty of goodies to be had just a click away.
  7. must have been thick chrome back in '34!
  8. the pointy things on a '59 Caddy grille, or here: http://www.solie.org/alibrary/DagmarsCanteen.html ?
  9. youtube: Mr Obsessive aka Bill Geary Jr.
  10. Rosie the Riveter is about half way to Daisy
  11. but Epson is still 1/3 the cost of HP cartridges. not as if you're buying razor blades.
  12. so I take it no one is interested in a "slightly warm" set of snap on wrenches?
  13. only thing that would have been wilder is if you put two ... oh wait; you did!
  14. they're both uglier than a bucket of butts. if you're gonna copy, make it something worthwhile.
  15. sweet
  16. the roadster came out great and certainly proved what hobbies are all about. every model doesn't need to be a showpiece or contest winner. but they should all be FUN!
  17. postage stamps used to be five cents, too. just like REI, I think Sears figured out a lot of people were abusing the return policy.
  18. I've made it a rule never to text while driving. it's the iPod that's going to get me killed . . . .
  19. came out nice. can't understand why two - tones faded from popularity.
  20. looks like it was well worth the research and work
  21. call me when he picks up Billy-Jo, Bobby-Jo, & Betty-Jo.
