  2. looks like the driver was smoking when he gassed 'er up
  3. model railroaders use black monofilament line for truss rods under flatcars. Clover House used to sell it. amazon has a variety, too.
  4. great illustrated step x step; thanks
  5. nice finishes
  6. with everything in the market "gluten-free" these days, where does it all go? and can I order something with extra gluten???
  7. Norm carved his own; tikis too. but I think the military modelers would have what you need (see above post). or just whittle one out of sprue if it's going to be a one-off part.
  8. AmazonSupply. prepare to spend some time!
  9. bead shop? 40% off coupon for Michael's or hobby lobby
  10. tiny rare earth magnet buried in the fender & spot of metal on the skirt? I think this is how Mr O keeps his doors closed.
  11. now that Checker is gone, what's left?
  12. you've got the rust technique down, but mix it up with some good ideas in the "Weathering vs Patina" thread
  13. looked forward to Boy's Life every month so I could make another neckerchief slide.
  14. nice; for sale or personal project?
  15. Early Years Resin (nope, still can't paste - google it) and The Parts Box (ditto) have them in resin don't get hung up on scale; what's the 1:1 difference in dimension between the 1/24 kit and 1/25 engine you're hoping to use?
  16. don't twist parts from the tree; use a sprue cutter or fingernail clippers. this will save you years of aggravation!
  17. the military modelers seem to bring weathering to a whole other level. like "shades & shadows" by figure painters!
  18. could someone shed light on this? coming from the military & model railroad hobby factions, weathering is applied to a model in the places it would appear on the real thing (tank, boxcar - whatever). here, I see numerous kudos handed out for a model which has no graduation of deterioration, but rather an overall, even, application of rust & schmoots. do cars weather & rust evenly? roof to rocker panels, bonnet to boot? does the ol' jalopy fading into the cornfield expire evenly on the north & south sides? give it some thought when reaching for the salt shaker ...
  19. hide your credit card; there's been some changes in the hobby!
  20. let's not forget VW goodies by EMPI. just google empius.com (no clip & paste feature for me - maybe punishment?) Bill aka empinut: link for your foto site please?
  21. always like this car. nice engine work.
