"... PURE FLAME-SPITTING FURY" i assume they were hugging because it was over! not sure i'd want to go quite 116 mph with those chains whizzing 'round each side. -
how'd this ever turn out?

after the '29 Ford gets picked apart, i'd like to see Revell crank out one of these: this may not be the same model; it was sourced from a different website. but the general idea is there: -
thanks; but i need to spend more energy building than surfing the web!

is this 1/24 scale?
-
and i still have the scars to prove it

what scale are you building? http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/scale_calculator.php if 1/25, you're fairly safe to double 1/48 sizes: http://www.northeasternscalelumber.com/uploads/images/2013%20New%20Catalog%20for%20NESL%20-%20Copy.pdf these folks have sheets of masonry siding: http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ http://www.plastruct.com/ http://www.modelbuilderssupply.com/index.php?cPath=1&osCsid=nkve84g70lm2rfilo60450s470 lego will sell their blocks x the each and it's a very protoypical way to build: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Individual-Bricks-ByCategory you can also search dollhouse, military, & railroad modeling for their sources.

1/25 Revell Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon 2'n'1
southpier replied to Matt T.'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
my father used to work in a machine shop. the coffee break caterer was a local mom & pop/ out of their kitchen affair. the guy would pull up with his '57 wagon, open the hatch glass, drop the tailgate, and start serving. the doughnuts were on an uncovered bakery tray and the coffee came from a military surplus coffee urn. he'd leave the engine running and the smokey exhaust would curl up under the hatch filling the entire car with smoke. this was about '62 or '63. to this day, when i smell exhaust i want a doughnut & coffee. -

the idea was probably generated by the firm's lawyers. obviously there will be one mcdonald coffee drinker who felt cheated because the disclaimer was not clearly worded enough and he expected the truck and case in the box. the attorney could plead to the jury "we don't even make that model" and the "case" would be thrown out of court. -
Oops ... thanks Roland for posting the additional pictures, too.

see? every one of us has questions! the scale is what threw me off, too. i hoped the split was 1/25. i'm going to give the gunze sangyo '56 a tussle and try a little styrene in hopes of making an at least plausible splittie. the racks job are really nice and we could certainly "adapt-down" to modeling scale. for anyone who's a fledgling Bugophile, you might enjoy Chris Vallone's very informative youtube site: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvnAxi1jREKbM9YpSXzYijQ he plugs his site & blog, too. lots of good reference material.
