  2. i'm not a frequent, or big buy customer, but always considered ME one of the 'big 3' internet shops. Dennis - best of luck on your new "adventure"

  4. no one has the bar from the AMT Chrysler Imperial - maybe '63? it was an odd little thing that got glued to the center of the rear seat. not sure how the driver was expected to get a refill.

  8. the addiction to nicotine is powerful. the tobacco companies know just how much to put in a fag to keep 'em coming back for more.
  9. so in 1966 Pactra spray was 69 cents. today, spry is 6.99. wrigley's chewing gum 5 cents. today anywhere from 99 cents to 1.25 depending where you buy it. gas was maybe 35 cents, cigarettes, too. now they're 4.00 + and 7.00 + respectively. model kits 1.19 to 22.99. minimum wage 90 cents to 7.25. i used to laugh at my parents when they told me the "... 3 pieces of candy for a penny" stories, but now realize they weren't kidding!
  10. he left us with a great legacy. the man helped shape the automotive hobby.
  11. i don't know anyone who doesn't have something good to say about this: http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/25ford-t
  12. there's two brothers whose name has escaped me and they have a weathering rusty junky site as well as a bunch of how to articles. might be from switzerland or one of those other states not mine.might be helpful - but i can't find a link now. aha: http://www.modeljunkyard.com/index.html you can sign up for free how to updates hope this doesn't violate rule #5 or #6.
  13. if you're just experimenting, use some dirty brush cleaner or thinned india ink w/isopropyl alcohol. if you enjoy being overwhelmed, tune into the military modelers and hold on tight - it'll be a bumpy ride!
  14. how long does it take to get the first issue of a subscription? i signed up when the electronic sample became available - 4 months ago? - and have not gotten any response. other magazines have sent me the current issue within two weeks just to get me hooked. MC = nada ???

  20. i didn't want to take this out of context, but it did give me a chuckle
  21. i gotta question for almost everyone who has posted a picture: how long do y'all keep paint? i had about 70 cans of spray paint (sealed/ unopened) as well as that many, and some duplicates, of jar paint just in the far possibility i might run out on a sunday afternoon in the midst of a heavy build session. now in reality, there's no need to have a solution for a problem that does not exist. but what is the reason - and perhaps more important, the shelf life, of having all this paint around? doesn't it get stale?
  22. you have seen this thread, right? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64295&st=0
