  1. Another vote for Longmire, it's a good show with very good actors. But there is a lot of worthless shows out there.
  2. This thread needs more pictures, a lot more pictures. Very nice work, it reminds me of the Junkyards I've seen in Hemmings and a few books.
  3. A lot of things are messed up at Hobby Lobby, luckily the ones here don't do that. One still had two kits on clearance from the last reset. They are the Willys cartoonish drag cars, which are tough to sell kits to begin with.
  4. I've been buying them when I see them. So far they have had the large drag slicks, sportsman slicks, the drag slicks with red, white walls. I've also seen the Firestone tires.
  5. I stopped at the Hobby Lobby and lhs today.
  6. They also had spaces for the new tool Cuda and the Mustang police car.
  7. I stopped into my local Hobby Lobby and they were restocking the model isle with the reset kits. It looks like they are getting a lot of the AMT reissued kits.
  8. I would almost pay them to spend 8 hours a day filling orders for replacement parts, almost. It wouldn't get boring that's for sure.
  9. That's a cool Falcon, with low miles too.
  10. I agree. Maybe it would spark some interest in F1 racing here.
  11. That's a nice article, I read Allpar for hours. It seems that I find links off the original page that keep producing other links. Soon I have ten windows open. Thank you for sharing.
  12. I couldn't agree more. I have bought a kit just based on the art work alone, even if I know what's in the box. On the flip side I have bought the newer release with the poorly air brushed built model because I know what's in the box and it's cheaper than the nice artwork box.
  13. I had lots of the single display cases until I was checking Craigslist one day and saw an ad for a collection of Nascar die-cast cars for sale. The owner had passed and had displayed his cars in cases. I bought seven cases for less than twenty dollars each. So far I've ran out of space to mount them all, not to mention filling them. It can pay off to check Craigslist every so often.
  14. Thank you Carl. It's not perfect, but it's my little haven.
  15. I like the cut of your jib, nicely done sir.
  16. There are several local hobby shops within driving distance to me. The closest is L and J Hobbies in Portage, MI. It is a small shop that has a decent stock of kits and paints. His prices are not too bad, and way cheaper than Hobby Town USA. The HTU here is a above retail kit price shop and the owner prices some kits even higher if he thinks that they are special, like the Moebius 55 Chrysler stock car kit that was 42.00+ when it first came out. In Watervaliet Michigan there is a old hobby shop called Bob's Hobby Shop. In a lot of ways it is like how I would imagine a LHS in the 1960's. The store is three levels of neat stuff and he sometimes has older kits. But since it is 35 miles away I go about twice a year.
  17. That is better than here. I tried last time they had a clearance sale to mention that it isn't a clearance at 40% off since I could use the coupon and get the same discount. The manager just looked at me like I'm a fool, which I might actually be.
  18. For my kids sake I hope so, but realistically I don't think they will go up much in value. They just make so many of them and guys like me buy several or six of the kits that we like. The companies are not like they were in the past, the tools are taken better care of so that they can be reissued again and again. The older and vintage kits that I have I think will peak in value in the next ten years or so. The hobby is going to get smaller as the older builders pass away. There just isn't going to be as many people that are willing to get into this hobby. And the ones that do are mostly interested in kits of current and foreign cars.
  19. Last time they had a clearance sale to move old kits, they never marked them down further. Except for the toy like Willy's drag cars that they had. There is one of those still on clearance here for 6.49 and it is left over from the last reset clearance sale. The staff at the Hobby Lobby that I went to today had no idea what was going to replace the current stock.
  20. +1, that would be very nice. They are getting rid of the REO semi, so maybe the Ford hauler will be the one to replace it.
  21. The Hobby Lobby here has kits on clearance, but they are just 40% off. Nothing that I couldn't already get with a coupon. Maybe they will go lower, but I doubt it. The last batch that went to clearance didn't get discounted less than 40%. The AMC Gremlin was one of the kits on clearance here, which kinda stinks because I was debating getting a few more.
  22. Both Hobby Lobby's here have the spray paint out in the open. Along with Micheal's and every other place that sells spray paint. Even Walmart has it out in the open where all the paint huffers can get their fixes right in the isle.
  23. I have to disagree, respectfully. By keeping the thread open, it may at the very least inform others that would look for opinions about his products and service. If it gets locked, it will fade away into the abyss that old posts on forums. By keeping it open, every now and then it surfaces to the front page of Resin.
