  1. Thanks Michael! LOL, I have never spent that kind of money on paint.
  2. Thanks Bob! As a fellow Hoosier, Bob Glidden was always a favorite of mine also. I want to do one of his Thunderbirds in the future.
  3. Thanks Maurice! I just got the Camaro decals from Slixx, so that's definitely on the to-do list. What color are you using for the Camaro? I have the WJ book and it just says "a rich red tone".
  4. Actually didn't have to change anything, they fit right in. No modifications required. The kit supplied tires looked really undersized.
  5. Thanks guys, appreciate it!
  6. Great job Nick! This is a really crappy kit and you did an awesome job with it.
  7. I've had these decals for many years and this is a project that I finally pushed myself to do. Just finished this week. I was always a WJ fan and wanted to make sure I did it justice. Started with the Revell "Chill Factor" generic olds pro stock (Didn't want to use my WJ version). Wasn't sure how much detail I was going to do with it because these kits are not the best. So I just started and figured it out as I went along. Did the interior first and spent a bit of time getting the mold lines sanded on the cage. Also, cut out the transmission tunnel and built a new one to accomodate a Lenco air pod transmission from VCG Resins. Added the airlines and re-did the shifter as well as adding interior electronics, belts and an aftermarket tach. Now that its done, you can hardly see any of it! LOL. Re-did all of the springs in the chassis with actual springs. Cut off the front clip before I had any idea how I was going to make it hold back on. Ended up using mini magnets that I built into the frame and inside fendors as well as aluminum rod and tube at the bottom to line it up. Also cut out the trunk lid and used photoetch Dzus plates from FutureAttraction to support it. Scratch built the parachute brace, spoiler braces, wheelie wheels and added a chute from Pro Tech. Rear tires are 3D printed (don't remember where they are from) and are much more accurate looking than the kit tires. Wheels were scavenged from a Glidden pro stock Thunderbird kit and re-chromed with Revell Chrom spray. On the engine I used valve covers from Competition Resins and scratch built the intake, remote oil filter plate and dry sump oil tank. Wired and plumbed to a decent detail. Since this thing called "work" seems to get in the way of my model building all the time, it took me a while to do, but I am happy with the results.
  8. Thanks guys, appreciate it!
  9. Actually finished this one in April but just getting around to posting pics. This was inspired by the actual car "Nova X" as seen at SEMA. Started with everyone's favorite donor kit, the AMT 66 Nova Pro Street. Bumpers smoothed and narrowed to line up with body. Removed drip rails, wipers and filled in the cowl vent. Headlight tubs molded-in. Scratch built items include; front air dam, rear diffuser, shocks, radiator cover, side-exit exhaust (solder), roll cage (also solder), door panels, center console and dashboard face. Side glass and rear window made from clear styrene. Resin cowl hood. LSX motor from Iceman Collections. Paints are ScaleFinishes Audi Nardo Gray and House of Kolor Cinder Red lacquers with Acme 2K clear. A challenging build, but a lot of fun and came out with the stance and look I was after. A couple pics when I was putting the interior together.
  10. Awesome job Tom! Really looks the part and a super clean, nicely detailed build.
  11. Hi Steve, welcome to the board and more importantly, back into the hobby! Looks like you already have a great start on a very ambitious project and have assembled some awesome aftermarket parts. I was just at the NHRA event yesterday at Route 66 Dragway in Joliet, IL and most of the field in Pro Mod was Camaro's so there is a lot of reference material out there. Really look forward to watching your progress on this, enjoy!
  12. This is just super cool Pierre! Patina, stance, disc wheels, it's all just so well done! I love the plates you made covering the light housings and grill. And as many others have said, it looks almost real with the Bonneville backgroud. Awesome job!
  13. Just an awesome build Bill! Read your build write-up and there is so much you did to get it to look so great. The stance is the first thing I noticed since so many of these funny car kits are way off. Fit and finish is fantastic!
  14. Great job on both Bill! Really cool to see these old Firebird funny cars. I appreciate and respect the extra work and details you put into your builds.
  15. Another awesome funny car build Bill! Awesome paint and details. All three look great.
  16. Came out really cool Roger! And I love the old base!
  17. Great progress so far Bill and it looks great! I have those decals to do this also someday. I did the Styles and Stahl Belvedere many years ago and did a lot of the same mods. I did the gas cap also but it is covered by the decals so you can barely see it! Keep up the great work.
  18. Hey Roger, glad to see you back at it with what looks like a fun build. Love the color with the white interior, all looks great. You know I like a cool gasser. I have a gasser in line with my builds, but there's 3 other builds in front of it!
  19. Awesome build! Love the color choices with the white exterior and red interior. Great job all around. I did one years ago in the box art blue, but I think the white looks better.
  20. Awesome looking pro mod Ken! Great job on the paint and details.
  21. Super cool Jason! The finishes on the engine are great. Already looking badass with the body on the chassis. Awesome work!
  22. There's almost nothing to say that hasn't already been said about your incredible work. I just want to say thanks for taking us along! It is always a joy to see your amazing updates. The rotor, spindle, caliper is phenomenol as usual. I would love to some day get into machining parts, but I am happy for now watching your craftsmanship on display.
  23. Wow! To say this is different doesn't do it justice. Not only an incredible amount of imagination and vision, but awesome craftsmenship. This is just super cool Steve!
  24. Great upgrades from the original kit! Looks awesome. Love the split dominators and the detailing. A very cool build.
