  1. Got the grille cut for the 3-gallon Moon tank. Cut a section out and then added the strip at the top to connect it. The car does not have front fenderwells, but I needed the rest of the underhood structure and firewall. I didn't want to scratch build all of it, so that is where the AMT Coronet kit came in. With some cutting and sanding and adding some stryrene, it came out pretty good.
  2. Just decided to go ahead and start posting this build. I have actually been working on it a little bit for the past month. This is one of my most ambitious builds, so I was leary of posting in case it doesn’t come together (LOL). But I said, WTH, I’m having fun doing it so why not share! This is going to be based on the Match Bash “Gold Rush” 65 Dodge Sedan AWB. I say based because I am not going to make it 100% accurate to the real car, but hopefully a lot will be close. This car was originally built between 2004-2005 and then completely refreshed in 2017. I’m taking a lot from the updated car because of all the reference photo’s available. This is my first ever build starting with just a resin-cast body and frame (Freemont Racing Specialties). I am basically modifying or scratch-building most of this car. I am using the Ramchargers 64 Super Stock for most of the engine and part of the chassis. Also using the AMT 65 Dodge Coronet for a couple parts. Rest is 3D parts, parts box and my imagination. Since I have already started, I will post some of the progress I have made so far. I will try to get the posts caught up to where I am currently over the next week or so. This is the body and the mocked up stance. I have bounced around with different areas of the car just to try and get it sorted out, but have recently decided to get the major parts of the chassis sorted out. The front of the resin frame needed a LOT of cleanup, so I decided to cut it off and use the same piece from the Ramchargers kit. Much of it is going to be changed anyway. Also cut out the gas tank from the Ramchargers kit. I scratchbuilt schocks for front and rear and made the schackles for the rear leaf springs. Shackles just have some wire in them to hold it in place. Also made the crossmember, engine and shock mounts. I will get some other pictures together and try to get them posted tomorrow.
  3. Fantastic build Chang! The color you mixed looks perfect. All the color choices are spot on and your execution is so clean. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
  4. Awesome job Scott! What's a build without something not fitting when you got to put it together . The Nova chassis really worked out well and the body looks fantastic!
  5. Looking good Roger! Those coil overs from Mr. Model are awesome.
  6. Glad you finished this one! Awesome build as usual. I remember seeing that car run live. The paint and decals are outstanding and the detail on the engine is next level as always. Thanks for sharing!
  7. Great progress Roger! I knew you'd figure out that issue and get it back on track. That grille is really really nice.
  8. Another great job with a Polar Lights kit. Looks really good Tim! Shortening the chassis was a great idea.
  9. Really sharp build Christoper! And you're right, those kits can be a bit of work to get looking nice like this. Great job.
  10. Wow Claude this is super cool! It's not just different, it's different done extemely well. Not easy to make a Hornet look badass! And it combines two of my favorite things, music and drag racing. In the early 2000's Kurt Johnson, Tony Pedregon and Doug Kalitta all ran a KISS 30th Anniversary themed paint scheme. I think Metallica is a perfect choice for a drag car. Also, I have heard that Revell Spray Chrome is nice, but this is the first time I am seeing it and it looks awesome.
  11. Super cool build Tony! I have this kit and was just going to do it as a quick bone stock build, but now you have me thinking. . . . mid-60's gasser maybe. Great clean build all around.
  12. Super cool project Ian! Looking forward to watching this, especially that chassis. Sounds like you have a wealth of knowledge and experience so I know it's going to be awesome.
  13. Thanks everyone! I really enjoyed doing this box stock build. I went back and forth on colors (body, interior, engine/wheels) and am happy with the ones I chose.
  14. Finished last night, completely box stock. Just wanted a clean, understated custom look. Paint is MCW Burgendy Metallic with Automotive 2K clear. I don't do "Box Stock" very often but challenged myself to leave things alone. It was a lot of fun and a pretty quick build. I think I am going to do more (of course, there are always more detailed builds in progress too.) Overall a pretty nice kit although the chassis can be challenging as well as the wing windows.
  15. Super cool Marcus! Gassers are a blast to build. I have a 57 I am getting ready to start myself.
  16. Coming along nicely Roger! I just got a couple pair of those shocks from Mr. Model. They are nice looking.
  17. I love the old FED's and your craftsmanship is outstanding. Thanks for sharing this awesome build!
  18. Super clean build on one of Boyd's most iconic cars. Looks awesome!
  19. Very cool build Jeff! Love the color with the black wheels and great job on the scratchbuilt items.
  20. Roll cage looks great Roger!
  21. A very cool 55. I've always thought about doing one. Will enjoy following this.
  22. Thanks Guy's, appreciate it very much. It really was a fun build.
  23. Thanks, that's really cool that you recognize the car. Being from the midwest, I had never seen it before.
