  1. Early mock up of the engine. 3D printed parts in the picture are from VCG Resins (great products). Had to get backdraft headers to clear the suspension without cutting everything up (they fit great).. Will be adding a distributor and super coil from Morgan Automotive Detail. There will need to be some scratchbuilding for alternator brackets, fuel rail and I'm sure other things. Also started cleaning up the body. Had to remove the extra heavy line for the bottom trim. This will be covered by decals so I need it nice and smooth. Then removed the Wipers. Hope to get the body in primer this weekend, but we shall see, I have been bouncing all around on this thing. LOL. Below pic is proof, switched gears and removed the back seat.
  2. This is my newest project. Just wanted to do a simple "old school" drag car from the 70's. Got the decals first and then picked up the AMT 67 Camaro. I don't have a lot of reference for this car, so this is not going to be an exact replica, I am just going to wing it and do it how I want to. Here is a little snipet of an article on the start of the Super Modified class in the mid 70's. "Back in the 1970s, long before any of the Super class racing existed, sportsman drag racers sought an affordable style of racing where they could race heads-up, with no breakout and do so on a pounds-per-cubic inch basis similar to their class racing. Their wants eventually led to the creation of Super Modified, the original 10.5 tire form of racing." First thing I did was start working with the chassis to get the right stance. (Thanks to Roger S. for the slicks!). I had to enlarge the rear wheel openings and fabricate some shackles and brackets for the rear end. With help from my wife and her Cricut machine, we cut some brackets and pieces to make the shackles to raise the rear end. I always hate kit shocks, so I made some from aluminum tubing. This gave it a decent stance. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it, so I will post updates as I can. I have mocked up the engine with some 3D parts and am working on the interior so hope to have those pics posted this week.
  3. What a cool subject! The Cobra makes a bad little altered. Love the rivet detail, really adds to the look. Great job.

It may not be what you started out to do, but man is it cool! Great detail and looks the part. Awesome work!
  5. Wow, just wow! I am blown away with every update you provide.
  6. Quite a bit of progress. Bodywork came out nice Roger. Rear fenders look awesome. I'm going to try to get a post started on my Camaro, maybe this weekend. It's going very slow, just not a lot of bench time lately.
  7. Very cool build. Paint looks great. I always thought this was one of the best looking of all the Vega pro stocks from that period.
  8. Hi Roger, glad to see you got this started. I'll enjoy watching what you do with this.
  9. Super nice build. The finish and interior are outstanding, great job!
  10. I use Tamiya tape and have had really good luck with it.
  11. Super cool build Scott! 60's stock and super stock classes are some of my favorite drag cars. Excellent build.
  12. Great looking build Jay! I know what you mean with the decals, I had the same issue with the Buick GSX. Those long stripes can be tricky. I now make sure to brush on extra water and not use the setting solution until I get the decal in place.
  13. Great looking Camaro! Everything looks great together with the blue exterior and white hounds tooth interior riding on a perfect tire wheel combination.
  14. Thanks Jeff, the inner fenders are part of the interior tub so I had to mask them off as well as the interior.
  15. Thanks everyone for all the feedback, really appreciate it!
  16. Just finished this box stock build. Paint is MCW Viking Blue Met. enamel with Acme 2K clear. Nice kit with almost no fit issues. Did have to heat the chassis a little for some minor warping. I try to do a box stock build after a detailed build just for the fun of it. Got a couple of detailed builds on the bench right now, so may have to stick in another box stock in a little while. LOL
  17. Super clean build. Great paint and love the dropped look!
  18. Another beautiful build! This is one of my favorite Sox & Martin cars.
  19. Followed you on YouTube with this one and you made a great choice going with the gray primer and clearing it. Looks great!
  20. Very cool to see one of these built. Great job!
  21. That is soo cool, absolutely incredible build. Details like the parachute bracket are just next level!
  22. Super cool Mike! Love the engine bay tin work and the window partially down is such a cool detail. Not surprised though, I saw your cars at the HMCA show a few weeks ago and they were all awesome too!
  23. This is super cool. What a great build. Love the work on the body like the little cut outs for the headers and the scoop.
  24. Thanks Daniel, I love the look of the old magnesium wheels.
  25. Thanks Ed, yeah I am very happy with the way this one came out.
