  1. Looks great in that colour. Engine is a beast, I like it.
  2. Appreciate all the comments, thank you. Yeah being that there is a lot of chrome trim, it can be a bit intimidating. Thats why I made sure to get in some practice on a few other car builds before tackling the El-Camino.
  3. Judging by the body in the back ground. Thats the snap kit right ?? Looks decent in that colour, you going to keep that low. ??
  4. Agree with your impressions on the kit. I just started working on the 68 Chevelle, got to say im very impressed with the overall quality of the molding and parts. As for the colour, black gets my vote. LOL!
  5. Came across this pic just recently, reminded of your post. Red chassis frame by the looks of it
  6. Mr Hobby from the jars thinned with levelling thinner 1:1.5. Airbrushed with a Iwata HP-TH .5 @ 18-20 psi Use the black surfacer as first initial check coat on the body to find flaws and also used as dark base mainly for my black paint jobs. The Gray is used for light colours. The 50 Ford F-1 will be painted Tamiya TS-24 purple.
  7. Manage to get one light surfacer check coat on all of the bodies. 65 Mercury Comet Cyclone 66 Impala 68 Chevelle 71 Impala. 76 Caprice.
  8. Applied what I call a light check coat of 1500 black surfacer. This help me to see all the mold lines, other issue's and what has been done.
  9. Thanks David, hoping I can do it justice. Thanks Ray.
  10. Surfacer applied to 50 Ford F-1 parts. And surfacer applied to a few more bodies. 6 bodies done in one session.
  11. Thanks Rusty, Impala's I like them all. Thanks Anton, just hope I can remember how it all pieces back together. Not super low this one, probably say its at drive height.
  12. While im waiting on the surfacer to dry/cure on the 50 Ford F-1. Couldnt help myself, seeing as there is now a few vacancies in the parking lot. Better add some new ones. Main reason being, need to make the most of what is left of the summer weather, so the plan is to get all of these prep'd and painted black while its nice and warm. Usually do the same each year during the summer season, paint a few bodies and put them aside for winter builds.
  13. Thanks Anton appreciate you following along with the builds.
  14. Thanks for the kind words Trevor. As seen else where, prep some parts and ready for the 1500 grey surfacer.
  15. Continuing on with the previous work done. Opened the boot/trunk. Scratch built some hydraulic pumps and will be using Pegasus batteries. Now to try and pick it up and start again from where it stalled.
  16. Time to get this back on the bench. Started the kit in 2016, but like some of my others it stalled. Wheels. Current state of the parts. These pics are from when I set up the stance in 2016. Engine is already complete. Work that was previously done 2016. Modified the oob kit suspension to look like it has the hydraulic cylinders.
  17. 50 Ford parts prep and ready for 1500 grey surfacer.
  18. Going to start this one soon.
  19. Generally everyone applies the BMF after clear. What clear coat are you going to use ??
  20. Thanks David and Chris. Its Under Glass now. Going to take a break from the parking lot stalled builds, going back to work on this for the Replica Build off in the Community Build section.
  21. Well ive got to be honest and say im not a 100% happy with this build. But I guess you lose track of a build when you started it 10 years ago and try to pick up where you stalled out. Had a lot of fit issues and trouble when doing final assembly. Glad I made it through to have another stalled build completed and on the shelf so I can move on to something else. Those of you who are observant will see some of the issues and things im not happy with. I've learnt expectations can not always be satisfied with every build. So im not going to whinge or complain in detail, just move on and accept it is what it is. A decent clean build that looks good on the shelf. Okay now we got that disclaimer out the way onto the pics. LOL! The kit I started with. First mocked it up and set the stance back in 2012. Other details in the WIP As per usual the same colours I always use. TS-14 black and TS-49 bright red. Wheels are Pegasus #1109's. Removed the mold lines on the bumpers and redone with Alclad chrome. Nothing fancy here, could say its a curbside plus an engine. Have held onto this number plate for years saving it for just the right build. Had clearance issue's with the oob air cleaner, so had to use one from my spare parts and painted Alclad chrome. No idea what it is from. Coil from spare parts also. Made a hard lid for the bed out 1mm sheet styrene and scribed around the edge to create the trim.
  22. Well I am so glad to say the 59 El Camino is complete, as per usual a teaser pic before Under Glass.
  23. Well after doing foil work on 78 cars, I guess ive had a bit of practice and learnt a thing or two along the way LOL!
  24. Interesting, did not realize how different the flares are on the LB Ken Mary Works No. 6, you should build that one mate. That Gazelle is a good example of Bosozuku. Crazy looking thing.
