Hadnt thought about door visor's,might be worth considering though,il look into it.Thanks for the suggestion Ive yet to work out what im going to do for a front bumper yet.So that would be good if you could share how to eliminate some of the gap between the grille and bumper. Yep,the french modeller is Christian (Pete18 on this forum I think) is a huge inspiration and idea's provider for this build. Thanks mate, Yeah Trick my Truck (C.S.M) provided a little inspiration.

Like I said in the opening post I aint a truck fan but I do like the custom rigs very much. Im way out of my element on this truck build but im trying.All the ideas and tricks have been inspired by other peoples builds and 1:1's. Fingers crossed it turns out the way I envision it in my head.

Yet another small update. Made a visor from some thin aluminum sheet,It still needs some final shaping and improve the way it fits. I figured while I was test fitting and mocking it up to see how it looks id snap a couple pics

Me too Doug. Another small progress update. Made some stacks. For the elbows on the lower part of the stacks,a section was cut from a plastic coat hanger. The stacks are 5/16 aluminum tube. Rough quick mock up for the moment,still need to fine tune their exact location and make some brackets to attach the stacks to the cab.

Here is the p.e mesh that will be used for the grille.

Very Small update. Done a bit more work to the rear bumper/light bar. Marked out and drilled holes for the tail lights. Cut to length then polished some (3/16) aluminum tube for the light surrounds Cut spacers for the lights (craft rhinestones) to mount on. Surrounds and spacers temporarily installed Temporary install on the lights

Thanks again for the comments fella's. Dont mind at all. To make the rear guards/fenders I chopped up a toothpick container for the top radius and the rest is styrene. I will try piece together a small how to,explaining and showing how they were made.

Here is another modification that was done to lower the front. Cut the floor pan off the frame and remove/sand down the strip that remains on the floor pan.This mod lowers the hood/bonnet and cab/sleeper a further 2mm But by lowering the floor pan you will also need to relocate/lower the hood/bonnet hinges. Sorry I didnt get any before pics.But if you have this particular kit just compare the mods ive done to the out of the box parts and it will help to see where and what was done.

Thanks for the additional comments. No worries with the suspension tips fella's. I actually read and learnt how to go about it on here,but I cant recall/remember the post or member that supplied the info. So really the thanks should go out to them for the tips on how to mod the suspension. Yeah going to use the kit engine and will be adding some extra details.

Small progress update. Opened up the hood/bonnet. Grille modifications. Before. After. A new grille will be installed later using KA Models photo-etch mesh Made a rear light bar/bumper

I stretched mine 50mm ----------------------------------------------------- Thanks Derrick. ----------------------------------------------------- Here you go James,I wasnt concerned with the suspension being scale functional. The suspension was lowered 4mm front and rear. For the front suspension,first I cut off the block the leaf springs mount on then cut a 2mm notch in the springs. Havent done it yet but later on the steering track rod will need to be modified to clear the engine,and sump will need to be modified/sanded down to clear front axle. For the rear suspension,cut the leaf spring/suspension mounting bracket off, then trimmed the mount down 4mm then reattached. Cut off the airbags sand down the ring on the tops,then trim the airbags 3mm

Thanks for all the replies and comments fella's much appreciated. Black, my favourite colour. I used some 1.0mm styrene sheet that was cut into strips to match the frame,il take some pics to show how the method I used.

Nice build Phil,as others have said adding some extra detail work helps bring these kits to life. And good job on the decals too. Look foward to seeing your next RM chopper
