  1. What Len said. All hail! David Thibodeau the king of carbon fibre decal application. High quality and flawless work.
  2. Another nice build Doc,well done. Look foward to seeing the other 2.
  3. Amazing and impressive, very creative thinking and use of Lego bricks.
  4. Wow!,looking killa so far.
  5. Very Small update. Done a bit more work to the rear bumper/light bar. Marked out and drilled holes for the tail lights. Cut to length then polished some (3/16) aluminum tube for the light surrounds Cut spacers for the lights (craft rhinestones) to mount on. Surrounds and spacers temporarily installed Temporary install on the lights
  6. Thanks again for the comments fella's. Dont mind at all. To make the rear guards/fenders I chopped up a toothpick container for the top radius and the rest is styrene. I will try piece together a small how to,explaining and showing how they were made.
  7. Here is another modification that was done to lower the front. Cut the floor pan off the frame and remove/sand down the strip that remains on the floor pan. This mod lowers the hood/bonnet and cab/sleeper a further 2mm But by lowering the floor pan you will also need to relocate/lower the hood/bonnet hinges. Sorry I didnt get any before pics. But if you have this particular kit just compare the mods ive done to the out of the box parts and it will help to see where and what was done.
  8. Thanks for the additional comments. No worries with the suspension tips fella's. I actually read and learnt how to go about it on here, but I cant recall/remember the post or member that supplied the info. So really the thanks should go out to them for the tips on how to mod the suspension. Yeah going to use the kit engine and will be adding some extra details.
  9. Small progress update. Opened up the hood/bonnet. Grille modifications. Before. After. A new grille will be installed later using KA Models photo-etch mesh Made a rear light bar/bumper
  10. I stretched mine 50mm ----------------------------------------------------- Thanks Derrick. ----------------------------------------------------- Here you go James,I wasnt concerned with the suspension being scale functional. The suspension was lowered 4mm front and rear. For the front suspension, first I cut off the block the leaf springs mount on then cut a 2mm notch in the springs. Havent done it yet but later on the steering track rod will need to be modified to clear the engine, and sump will need to be modified/sanded down to clear front axle. For the rear suspension, cut the leaf spring/suspension mounting bracket off, then trimmed the mount down 4mm then reattached. Cut off the airbags sand down the ring on the tops, then trim the airbags 3mm
  11. Cheers Zac. The rear guards were made from toothpick containers and styrene sheet Sean, hopefully these pics show how the frame was extended/stretched.
  12. Thanks for all the replies and comments fella's much appreciated. Black, my favourite colour. I used some 1.0mm styrene sheet that was cut into strips to match the frame,il take some pics to show how the method I used.
  13. Nice build Phil,as others have said adding some extra detail work helps bring these kits to life. And good job on the decals too. Look foward to seeing your next RM chopper
  14. Thanks for the comments fella's.
  15. Work in progress continued. Extended lower edges of the cab, sleeper and front guards. Made fuel tanks, rear guards. Filled in various mounting holes and started to smooth the hood/bonnet,cab and sleeper. Anyways thats where im up to at the moment, will have a progress update soon.
  16. Not really into trucks/big rigs all that much, but I have become a fan of the customised show rigs you guys have in the U.S. So after getting some inspiration from the net, dvd's a mate lent me and a French model truck builder. I decided to venture into a subject I have not built before. Started with a cheap easy kit, to get an idea of what its like to build a truck. If this build turns ok il get a better kit and build another. So after some guidance from my mate, the progress began. Out of the box mock up to get an idea of what and where to modify to get the look im after. (apologize for the poor quality of the first few pics) After some modifications to frame, front and rear suspension it was lowered and stretched.
  17. Awesome! The chassis is very impressive and all the other detail work make this build stand out for sure
  18. Ok il chime in. Another Australian from Port Pirie (aka Lead City) South Australia. Some Aussie cars I have built. Holden FJ Holden FC Holden HK ute (this was built to represent a Summernats burn-out car) Holden HQ Monaro And finally in Australia we love our ute's,so I converted an Impala to a ute.
  19. Wow ! after seeing the parts as you were building this, the end result was not what I expected. You have some great imagineering skills and this build is very unique and super cool. Top job, more pics please
  20. Excellent craftmanship, look foward to seeing the end result. What adhesive did you use to attach the wire ??.
  21. Cool Hand

    '67 Impala

Nice one mate, well detailed and cleanly built.
  22. As already said super clean and excellent detail work. 68's are my favorite year of Impala's,wish one of the kit manufacturers would release a new freshly tooled kit.
  23. Thanks Zac, A couple more pics in full sun-light.
