It's hard to narrow it down, but for new tooling here goes. 1) 1957 Ford pickup 2) 1971 Ford Pinto 3) 1976 Ford Gran Torino (Starsky and Hutch)

I'm looking for some thing that may not exist. A few years ago I seem to remember a transkit to turn the AMT 55-57 chevy pickup into a GMC. At the time I didn't care. Now that I want one I can't find it. Am I imagining this? I've checked websites and come up empty. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't use an airbrush, so I always use an enamel spray for the base interior color, then use acrylics or cheap craft paints for details. They don't attack the enamel, so there is no running. Also if I make a mistake, then it is easy to wipe off and do over. After I finish, a coat of Dullcote evens out everything and hides streaking. I have some gel pens from Hobby Lobby that work pretty well for details. They also make a white one that works well for whitewall tires. Speaking of coupons, I go to the Hobby Lobby website and get their 40% coupon and save it on my phone to get the discount. Also Michael's stores at least around here honor and match Hobby Lobby coupons.

I just discarded the can a little while back or I would be able to let everybody know what brand it was. The only reason I think it was Krylon is because I use that brand most of the time.I used an airbrush years ago, but in an effort to simplify and after having kids to take up spare time, I quit building highly detailed models and now just build for enjoyment whenever I get a little time to myself. Of course being laid off a couple of weeks ago has added to my free time quite a bit as I now have 3 finished out of the box models built, just clean the seams up and do a good paint job and put it together......

Just wondered if anyone had tried these? I use spray bombs for all my painting. A while back I bought a can of water-based paint to try. I think it was Krylon. I sprayed it over my usual Duplicolor sandable primer with the usual prep. I put it back in the box and forgot about it for quite a while. Later I noticed that it didn't seem to stick very well and didn't respond to polishing very well either. I will stick with my regular paint, so it's not that big a deal, just curious more than anything. I live in west Texas and the humidity is usually in the 25-55 % range. In the summer it's like living in a giant paint dryer. Regular oil-based Krylon is dry to the touch within an hour or two, though Rustoleum of course never seems to dry completely.

I can't find the link right now, but I read a while back that a lotof the companies that have been sending jobs to China are looking at bringing them back to the US to improve quality and response time. Seems that labor is like everything else, you get what you pay for. Also anything that they ship over there to get built gets copied and ripped off.

Hey congrats! My wife finally had lap-band last year and she has lost almost 100 pounds. Now she wants me to lose 20 or so pounds!

I voted for the pickup, but I would love to see them start re-issuing all the previous versions but with stock and maybe also vintage speed parts added. How about some vintage Bonneville/drylakes components? It would give me a whole new reason to buy more. I have started to buy more of them at various times, but the modern day components always stopped me.,

Love this car! Color is great too. So good to see cars that look like hot rods that could be driven. I like Chip Foose and all those guys, but there cars lack personality. They are sort of the Toyota Camry of hot rods, competent but bland.

I currently have 233,000 on my Focus.

I would love to see the MPC 70's annual kits reissued, Pinto's, Vegas, Monzas, Volares etc. Oh and the 1976 Datsun pickup with the stock parts back in it. The '68 parts back in the Chevy pickup.

Though these were mass-produced vehicles, through time and attrition, they are no longer easily found. Just like endangered animals, the pool of availability is ever shrinking. My personal pet peeve is when Chip Foose or someone else starts with a pristine vintage car and then proceeds to tear it down and customize it. Like they say, "It's only original once." I always hope to see the original unrestored cars cared for so our grandchildren can see them. There are many projects that need a little work in junkyards all over the country that could be used instead. Just my opinion.

Beautiful work! You've inspired me. My dad started on a similar project about 15 years ago, using a 1/32 scale semi-truck chassis and one of these cutdown LRW bodies. He was building it to tow a big camper trailer. I'm going to have to dig it out and see if I can finish it for him.
