  1. I'm pretty sure this Mustang kit started off as a Palmer offering back in the day. I think the Challenger kit that Lindberg put out a while ago was one of Palmer's old molds too. Palmer's kits were more miss and miss than hit and miss, quality-wise.The Chevelle and the 53 Ford were later from Lindberg's renaissance a few years back. Much better kits.
  2. You are doing some amazing work on a poor kit. It's going to look great! Keep it up and have fun with it.
  3. I don't have a picture of my work area, but here is an approximation:
  4. Was this modified from AMTs fastback kit? If so I may have to get one and try to use the roofline with one of their notch backs.
  5. The first I remember was my dad's 1965 Mustand 2+2. It was light metallic blue with the sport wheels. It had the fold down rear seat. He loved that car.
  6. Sadly I don't have any pictures of the first vehicle I bought, but Revell's releasing of the 1982 F150 has made it possible for me to start on a model of it.
  7. In Texas we always called them a panel van or panel delivery. You've done an awesome job on this. I have one I painted blue that is on the get-to-it list. You've inspired me. I'm gonna have to move it up in line!
  8. Just amazing. Good build and the weathering looks just right too!
  9. Looks good to me. Just needs a little music player singing over the river and through the woods!
  10. What he says. Proper preparation prevents P-poor product. Get rid of seams and irregularities on everything. Prime everything it helps see mold lines, I use a Dupli-Color sandable spray can type then sand it smooth. #4 is great, the only thing I would add is to make a stand for the parts and buy some of those resealable plastic shoebox type bins. As soon as you are through painting, put the parts in one to dry. It helps keep dust off the fresh paint and minimizes the fumes when you bring the parts in to dry.
  11. Right now Modelhaus would be your best bet on those.
  12. Thanks for the responses one and all. I have bought many a kit for that one particular part that I just had to have for a build. Usually it is tires and wheels. It just bothers some part of me to have a kit sitting around waiting to have its missing parts returned to it. It's like it is calling out to me! Lol. I just pictured those Rat Rod sets and the ones from the Midget racers and all the other cool ones Revell makes being a neat add on for the guy who goes in to buy a kit that he wants to do something different with.
  13. With it inverted it looks like some kind of custom track nose! Great idea. It might look good like that on the 29 roadster as well.
  14. I just figure they already have paid for the molds, so maybe they could get extra use out of them. Even when the original source kit isn't currently being produced, they could maybe pick up some more money on the wheels and tires. Plus it keeps guys like me coming back to the hobby shop.
  15. Here is a phone picture of them mocked up in place. They are beautifully cast! I think this is about the right ride height. I am also trying my hand at weathering, don't know if I'll keep that.
  16. I guess the title says it all, but I really would love to see Revell release some of their current tires and wheels in a parts pack format. Maybe the tires and wheels from the Rat Roaster and the same from the new 29 A. Possibly some of the Chip Foose or similar sets as well for later types of cars? Just a thought for what little that is worth! Lol. It might be a way to get more mileage out of the molds. Don't know if it is feasible to produce just those parts, but it would be nice.
  17. Hope it is alright to post this here. A little while back I found a Dodge Van and decided it needed a set of Minilites. I knew I had some somewhere that I had used to make a mold off of, but couldn't find them. Not too long after mentioning it, I got a message from Curt saying he had a set he would send me. I just want to thank him publicly, he is a 1/25th scale life saver!
  18. I'm thinking gauges as well. Some show and race cars had a duplicate set of them mounted ostensibly so the person working on the engine could see them. Probably most of them were actually more for looks. Either way, you have a great looking start!
  19. Nice work. You've got me thinking that I need one in silver with the maroon vinyl half-top and maroon velour upholstery!
  20. Looks like you'll have fun. I used to go to hobby stores and only look at the kits. Now I spend about as much time in the Plastruct area looking for stuff that I don't need but think I might someday!
  21. I love these factory stock models!
  22. I've never sen it turn to jelly, might have been an old/bad batch? I always use it for a few days or car bodies whichever comes first and then discard it so maybe it only works well fresh?
  23. Me too! I love this site! Between the tips and the project ideas, you guys keep me in trouble with my wife.
  24. It may make me want to go back and revisit some of my past poor body work decisions. I've used it before, but never noticed it doing that before. One more way to salvage those puttied up eBay rejects!
