sobpinstriping replied to gseeds's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Look up Bill Hines, he did kind of a tear drop to his frenched atennas back in the 50s -
You don't have to tell me to look ant you'r page, I already did a while back. I was wondering if you would comment on this. The outlaw kit was not as bad as it looked to build but the decals were a pain in the butt, I yelled and cursed the whole time doing them. thanks for the comments. cheers mat

Here are few more show cars, I'm working on the lil coffin right now. I just got the predicta and silhouette the other day so I'm well on my way. Btw the gold on the ala kart is 24 k. gold leaf (I do pinstriping). I tried a few tims to use leaf for trim and stuff and it never worked, I have since found out how wonderfull bmf is for models. cheers mat

As you can tell I love Roth cars. I'm missing tweedy pie (I got out bid by a dollar on e bay) and the orbitron (its like $40 or so for the resin). Most of thies I did before I knew about adding plug wires and such. I know that some of the decals are messed up also but a couple of the kits were pretty old and the decals were pretty cracked but I made it work the best I could. cheers mat

My dailly driver,1965 f-100, my dad gave me the truck after it sat for around 4 years because the clutch was bad. I put a new clutch in and drove it for a while, i ended up swapping a 302 ci. with a c4 tranny. This is the most recent picture of her, just got the frond primered. Someday it will be lower and have a panel paint job in the style of larry watson. cheers mat

From a wifes point a view

My soon to be wife kinda disliked my model building at first, but now she is ok with it. Sometimes she doesnt understand how can spend $30 or $40 on a model that I wanted since i was a kid but she is starting to get it. I bought her a creature from the black lagoon model that she showed a slight intrest in, she finished it and it looks better than a lot of the stuff i do. She also painted the tiki hut from my ed roth surfite model and that turned out awsome too. I think she would rather have me working on a model rather than playing video games or just playing on the internet cheers mat -
awsome, i love gassers. you did a great job. i would also like to see the engine cheers mat

Hello once again, Here is a 1960 ford starliner I did about a month ago. This is the first time I used bmf (its awsome, I do pinstriping and i tried gold and silver leaf but it didnt work very well). It was also the first time for useing flocking (I wanted a dark blue for it but the only color the hobby shop had was white so I'm gonna order some differnt colors). If any one of you has noticed it seems like every time i post its a first time for something, all of you guys have opened my eyes to so much when it comes to model building to which I am very gratefull. Its pretty much box stock except for the baby moons which were from the deora show car model, the atenneas from the 60' chevy, a push pin for the gear shifter, and the intake and tri carbs from the parts box. This is my second attempt at doing a two tone paint job, its better than the last but still needs improvement, but I'm learning. cheers mat

Thanks everybody, its not my first weathering job (its my second) but it is my first time using sophisticated finishes rust stuff. Thanks again cheers mat

hello again, i finished this up a few days ago waiting for some models to come in the mail. Its my first attempt at kitbashing, ive had the body and most of the parts sitting in a box for years, so i thought i would give it a go. This is also my first time using sophisticated finishes for the rust, im sure I'll get better with it the more i use it. for the headers i scratch built them out of solder and cut the collecters off of some headers that wouldent work for me( i wished i would of taken pics of them before i put it together they looked really good). I used a clear blue for the windows but it got really foggy, o well. The last thing i was pretty proud of which you cant see is i used a vapor barrer (silver paper used to cover insulation on walls, I got it off a job site) for dynamat, I'm going to start taking pics as i build. I know its not as good as a lot of people here but I'm still learning. As always comments are very welcome. cheers mat

my first model was a huey hog helicopter when i was in second grade, i built a lot of airplanes when i was a kid because my grandfather dumpster dived the v.a. when he went for checkup and they threw out all the model planes and ships because the patients where huffing the paint, i still have a couple of planes and ships left and two cases of old revell glue which i still use and i dont think ill ever run out cheers mat
