  1. How about combining the two and be a MOCKER!
  2. I think the stuff was bad and if you could not blend them until the mix was smooth it should be tossed. You may want to grind or sand out what you have applied.
  3. And to add more to this,Micromark sells a tool (mostly intended for model ship builders) to bend wood strips. I believe thy suggest plastic bending too.
  4. Try applying it to clear decal paper, and then to the model?
  5. I think we need a Pet Peeve section, that way the manufacturers could go to a one-stop shop and see real quick what bugs us. My PP is the holes in the hoods that are then molded over with a thin film of plastic. Honestly,I don't know of anyone, young or old who can't put a hole in a plastic body! I've tried dozens of ways to fill these score marks and no matter what filler is used,and/or primer, they seem to have an existence all their own.
  6. Even if you screw up, you can soak the entire unit in acetone and that will dissolve the super glue. Is there anyway/anything you can use to jig the entire thing together, and then glue it up? I've got a couple of these kits and now I'm curious about this piece.
  7. Bondo professional glazing putty at your local auto parts stores. about 8 bucks . Make sure it's got the small vial of catalyst. I also use Magic-Sculpt for large build -up areas, or where I may want to carve a unique shape/detail.
  8. I need to make a correction on this: The replica that Dean Milano made was a stock Anglia and a panel. That's where the reference to a two slot and three slot grill opening came from. I'm not sure he made a replica (stock) of a Topolino.
  9. So Far my build is going okay. The seam around the trunk area and at the tailights has been the only trouble spot, also picking the right color. Wish someone would m ake some chrome foil type decals for the script or metal transfers. GREAT KIT!!
  10. Refrigerating all these putties, super glues, etc. sure does pro-long the life too!!
  11. Well I'm chiming in! Glad you mentioned the Tamiya 2-part polyester putty. Started using that 10 years ago and if it was easier to obtain(like at my local grocery store easy) I'd still use it. It's been replaced by Bondo two-part poly glazing putty now. I also like the Apoxie stuff, similar to milliput, but much cheaper and then found that Magic-Sculpt appears identical and is even cheaper than Apoxie.
  12. Here's a stock grill. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=fiat+topolino&start=281&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1176&bih=555&
  13. As I recall,Topolinos had two distinct grills. One was just two slot and another was three slot. Long ago Dean Milano in Scale Auto detailed how he made the grills on a replica he did.
  14. Whoo-boy ! this is a 3M product, Go 3M
  15. I didn't see the frame /pan work, but as an aside, the '60 Ford Starliner chassis almost drops on with all of it's separate parts details. The work you've done here looks good though.
  16. I was under the impression that Hubley was first with this, then minicraft reissued it. Entex stuff was mostly of Japanese origin, and just imported by Entex.
  17. "When you say " Silly Money " , do you mean a good price ?" YES!! Stupid money would be a high price.
  18. Title says it all. In the late '60's & early '70's custom painter/body and fender guys all I knew mentioned this gun as the holy grail . I did all right with a DeVilbiss,(borrowed at that) and never got around to acquiring that gun. Any painters here ever use it? How would it stand up to todays guns. I have an opportunity to get one N.I.B. for silly money.
  19. That looks good and don't bemoan the fact that Revell is bringing one out. My opinion is that they are making a mistake like AMT did by not issuing a '58 Ford Fairlane instead of the Edsel. Hopefully, maybe if the "57 sells well they will see that a '58 could be a good thing.
  20. I was distracted by a pop up ad of a girl in a tennis skirt
  21. Everyone I bought were okay by me!!
  22. Somehow I sense a bidding/buying frenzy of this kit after all the chat about the parts
  23. I got a bit of a sunburn lounging poolside at my MHC swimming hole.
