1971 Valiant Super Bee
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Far out ! A true hardtop at that ! That roofline is the same as the 2 door coupe (and convertible) -- I'd be interested in seeing interior photos. The rear window regulators must be based on the '67-'68 Dart coupe ( "21" body style ). -
1971 Valiant Super Bee
1972coronet replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen a small handful of Mexico market A-bodies around over the years. Last one I saw for sale was a 1970 Dart GTS ( 270hp 318 , 4-speed ). For the life of me I can't recall if it had the Rallye gauges or the 'bar' speedometer. -
Ad - maybe brochure cover - for the 1971 Valiant Super Bee from Chrysler de Mexico (et alia). This would be easy to replicate in-scale , as other than its rims (Chevy rallye wheels are close, albeit with different centre caps) it's pure Duster. Emblems could be made via print-to-scale decals. Engine is either gold or silver (I can't recall which is correct for 1971) ; a 318 with essentially 340 top end (four barrel, unsilenced air cleaner).

‘67 Plymouth Super Commando 383

Another thing to watch for (presuming that you're replicating a factory stock engine) is the rocker arm covers (colloq. , valve covers). Main difference is 1970 & later vs. c.1963 - 1969 -- location of the breather changed for 1970 & later to the right (passenger side) rocker cover (to facilitate EEC required that year), and the PCV was changed its location as well. Now for picking fly poop out of pepper : number of retainers for the rocker covers changed as well : 1958 - c.1963 had two-less retainers vs. the c.1964 & later 'covers. Air cleaner should - as you've mentioned - have snorkels ; the lid should be ribbed as well . -

The entire So Alone album ROCKS ! The decision to put Pipeline as the opening track was a righteous decision.

Funny thing about censorship as it pertains to music formats ; I can think of a couple of examples which either slid-through and/or were considered benign at the time : 1.) Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side 2.) Jefferson Airplane's We Could be Together (esp. on the Dick Cavett Show) 3.) Take a Whiff on Me by Leadbelly These are just off the top of my head.

The backwards guitar in I'm Only Sleeping is delicious ( especially in MONO )

Heck, even the one (maybe more 'an one) listed on Model Roundup is going for 44$ or 46$ ! That's too much, IMO. yes, I realise that everything's going up, styrene's no exception ; but at over 50$ with cheapo Cymru-priced shipping, I'm not going to bite. So, if/should Round2 reissue this oldie, and it sells for , say, 35$ , I can swallow that... or even 60$ for an original MPC annual would be fine.

I was scrolling through eBay for the Round2 reissue of the MPC 1978 AMC Pacer, and I was knocked-out by the underwear smoking prices ! What the Devil ?!? Bain't that I'm going to sacrifice a C-Note for one of them - holy smokes ! Anyone know if Round2 is planning to reissue this kit again anytime soon ? I won't miss it this go'round ! @SteveG , et alia.

Not sure about the mirrors you're referring to - however, here's a resin 300 six, albeit carbureted : Ford — Shop Model Car Wheels, Parts and Accessories — VCG Resins by Reese -
Emily is quite young indeed : she's 10 weeks old ?. She's hiding right now (haha).

Question/New Topic for us Oldtimers
1972coronet replied to TransAmMike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Chiming in at 54 (or, as I refer to it as, twenty-seven for the 2nd time). Never been my age - never felt my age (been sore for more 'an 25 years , the result of car wrecks (none were my fault) and physical labour). -
