One of the most obvious items which make a "64 1/2" stand out is the lack of 'reverse' lamps. Those weren't mandated until 01/01/1965 (e.g., some early-production 1965 cars didn't 'reverse' lamps -- Landy's 1965 Coronet S/S -come- AWB has one tail lamp with the 'reverse' lamp, and the other one without. That was done out of necessity ; but that's another story). IIRC, the 260 V8 was the only (standard ?) V8 . Perhaps all high-perf iterations were actually 289 ?

Those were the west coast and east coast factory racing teams' colours : one was white/ blue stripes, the other was blue/ white stripes. While I haven't checked, I wouldn't be surprised if someone offers one - or both - teams' decals . I recently bought an MPC 1970 Mercury Cyclone annual (original issue) and I want to put a correct 429 in it (the kit's engine options are both incorrect for 1970 : 428 (which is an FE) or the BOSS 429. Who makes a resin 429 ? Even more betterer - anyone got a complete 429 from the recent Revell Tornio GT a/o Cobra that they'd be keen on trading ?

To add a couple of points to @tim boyd's history of the STAGE V , and the mention of the different exhaust between the two versions of the '71 Charger : - The STAGE V Hemi conversion was also available for the B-Engines (350-361-383-400). I seem to remember that headers intended for the 426 Hemi were required ( 426 Hemi exhaust manifolds were - still are - an expensive item ). - The turn down exhaust tips ( colloq. "California Exhaust" ) weren't required on every engine option, but are indeed correct for a 440 Magnum / Super Commando equipped 1971 Charger (just as likely, 1968-1970 as well ) . It was what's known as Noise Reduction Package (sales code 'N97'), and it almost always follows sales code 'N95' California Emissions Package. Oftentimes, cars with N95 / N97 are incorrectly restored, their owners adding the bright exhaust tips during the "restoration".

In my experiences , the kids in their 20s and younger are keen on the arcane stuff from Gen-X and earlier. To wit ; there are two brothers around where I live who are both in their twenties, and they positively love old Chryslers and JDM. Between them they own and drive : - 1969 Dart Sedan - 1972 Demon - 1972 Swinger - 1974 Duster - 1990 Cressida And those are just the cars which they operate on a regular basis. The young brother - age 28 - is a photographer as well. Like, ancient-to-him Polaroids and other 35mm cameras and such. Both are true hot rodders - none of their cars (excepting the Cressida) are stock. I have some faith that the old tactile stuff will find its way back into fairly common use.

I agree re: the digital format bollocks. I'm tactile - staring at a screen while scrolling is not the same as holding a book, magazine, etc. while flipping pages. I miss Muscle Car Review quite a lot. A close - and very good - periodical is Canada's Muscle Cars : Bone Stock & Modified. I understand that Mopar Action was axed (again) recently. Translation : more pages of ads for shaving kit subscriptions, colognes, and cutlery.

That $0.67 / $0.69 a gallon is for 100 octane 'Ethyl' at that. Ne'er-the-less, quite expensive for the time... but not nearly as expensive as 1979-1980 when that same gas ( octane rating changed to the R+M/2 method on 01-APR-1979 ; now 100 octane is "95" octane - but I digress) was at least $1.00/gallon when / if one could find it.

Just to preface : I couldn't play an instrument if my life depended on it. Likewise, I know little to nothing about the technical aspects of instruments (let alone being able to read / understand music) , so I'll defer the nitty-gritty to the accompanying link. With that out of the way - here's one of the coolest guitars EVER : the White-Parsons B-Bender . I've seen countless videos of the late Clarence playing his invention (innovation ?) with The Byrds. Then I saw Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives (fantastique band ! Forget about it !) on 15-4-2022. I was wondering if the 385-Series (429 / 460) was an option for the 1973 Cougar - thanks for clarifying this. I'm planning on a 99% stock build of this kit ; I'll dig for a 351-C... unless someone offers an nice resin copy ? Would the transmission be an FMX , C-4, or C-6 ? My '70 Ranchero GT had a 351-C two barrel with an FMX.
