  1. Nifty RM21P5 ! Last year of the R.R.-specific VIN, too - last year of the big block R.R. as well . Good call on the JL6 colour - really popular in its day (most of the tiny handful of 1975s I've seen were either JL6 or EW1).
  2. I would just die if a 1970-1971 Swinger [340] were to come around ! Arrrg ! So many possibilities - a car which has never been modelled in stock guise ! Icing on the cake ? 1971 or 1972 Swinger Special 340 ! Heck the 1972 grille and interior could find their way into the Demon kit, hein ?
  3. Rumour has it - and it's just that: a rumour - that the MPC 1971/1972 Road Runner is 'under review'. Aside from that : how's about the MPC 1971 Challenger and/or 1971 Barracuda annuals "reimagined" ?
  4. Wayne Kramer of MC5 and others fame passed away today. K.O.T.J., M.F. ! Wayne Kramer Dead: MC5 Co-Founder Was 75 – Billboard
  5. La Puissance ! My friend has a "1985/1986" 205 GTI which he's had for 25 years -- one of two (or some small number) in the U.S. ... at least as of c.1998. What 'makes' it a "1985/1986" ? Apparently it was titled as a "1985" in France, but is considered a "1986" in the U.S. - and is officially registered as a 1986 model ( go figger). Ne'er-the-less, it's a really fun li'l car. Too bad that Peugeot didn't import the 205 for the U.S. market , especially during the mid-late 1980's.
  6. My dad just mentioned that to me ; I was unaware of that. I only 'itemised' the films which I'm familiar with (I've seen Patton, but that was many years ago).
  7. Bill Hickman also acted in Bullitt , French Connection, and Seven-Ups : - Hitman in Bullitt - FBI Agent Bill Mulderig in French Connection - "Bo" in Seven-Ups Sonny "Cloudy" Grosso was behind the latter, in addition to having a small role in the film.
  8. "Manners a lotta ladies here tonight !", proclaimed Clyyde when he stumbled into Hamburger Mary's
  9. I'm not sure it'd be possible to make a truer-to-the-novel film without it being almost 3 hours in duration. I've been a fan of the movie since I was 10 (1980). As an adult, I love it even more ! A ficitonalised screenplay was the only way to go, really. Remarkable job the entire crew did in pulling off the non-stop action !
  10. Everyone's seen the classic 1971 film adaptation of the gripping 1968 novel The French Connection - but how many have seen the actual car from the actual bust ? Well, here's some pics of it - 1960 Invicta - and one of its pilots, Jacques Angelvin, seen here asking the escorting officer , "Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick ?"
  11. "Girlfriend - that's G-I-R-L-F-R-E-END...", sings Johnathan Richman in his brainchild The Modern Lovers
  12. Sublime is FJ5 ; after 1970, it didn't survive
  13. "Fashion... turn to the left..."
  14. While I don't have photos of examples, I've had decent outcome with plated headlights by brushing a thin layer of Tamiya (brand doesn't matter) clear blue on them. I've also seen examples of plated headlights with Mod Podge generously applied (use the gloss 'Podge) , and the results are pretty good.
  15. "Awry Reuben san'ch is wot I ordered, hein ?", inquired the Dutch saillor whenst their streamer shored in Bastan
  16. Whomever this mystery reviewer is, they performed a sweet build-up of that kit. I can't wait for the 'peon' copies to arrive, hein ? I've already ordered a couple of them.
  17. Super nice application of that EF8 ! Where'd that big block / T-flite come from ? Looks like the Revell '69 -come- '68 Dart piece ?
  18. 'Shelly' the ostensibly Tortoise Shell love bug. She's a feral heart ; must be 17 years old , and has been feral since day one. She's had quite a few broods of kittens over the years - last time was some 10 years ago. She's a true survivor !
  19. Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll be watching your WIP progress for sure, esp. since I'm a lifetime lover of the 1972 Demon (the unique grille is its most alluring feature - not to mention the blue engine with orange air cleaner). Hopefully someone'll make a new resin 1972 grille for the new MPC 1971 kit.
  20. Where'd you get the 1972 grille ? Link, please.
  21. I ordered one from Auto World and it arrived Saturday. I still have orders in from the independent hobby store I purchase the majority of my kits and supplies from; still waiting on those. The reason I'd ordered one from A.W. is simply because I'm an impatient Celt, and I was obsessing over having one in my weathered mitts. "Satisfaction is the death of desire."
  22. To add to the hind-section issues of this kit : how about that incorrect differential ? Should be a Dana 60 ! This is the case in the 1967 GTX / RO23 , 1967 Charger, and this , the 1967 Coronet. Swap to a Torqueflite, and the 8.75" rear is correct - not sure which is less vexing, the swap to a Dana or the swap of transmissions.
  23. "Noun you can, savvy , never mind !", proclaimed Struan to May-May
  24. U.K. is on me list of places I'd love to visit and explore some day (would have to brush up on my Cymræg though...)
  25. Then there's Tama Tama (cat) - Wikipedia who was Super Stationmaster ( wish that I could've met her ).
