Suggestions?

Thanks for the pics. I have the cab for the stubby nosed Chevy medium duty truck to haul the cars. Still trying to find a good deal on an Opel Blitz to use for the chassis. I've found, even today, most trucks will carry vehicles at the same assembly plant. I work at a Chrysler dealer and will see 300's, Chargers and Challengers on one truck. Never a pick up or even a 200. At the same time, if 200's are being dropped, they are ALL 200's. I will say that because trucks didn't sell like they do now, I've seen carrier photos with a truck mixed with cars, but they are only on the upper level of the carrier. The only truck with 5 cars I haven't seen before. All the photos I've had were of the 4 car carriers without the truck rack. I'll have the build on here, but I may put a bunch on at one time. I'm not fast. Too much stuff going on including 2 full size Studebakers (and work). There are also plans on this site for a 1940's dealership. If I get a wild hair up my you know what, it will probably also be a Chevy dealer with '57 Chevys just to be able to use the truck and rolling stock.

Dan, car carriers back in the day only carried 4 cars. Two on top and two on the bottom. The 7 car carriers didn't come along until the 1960's. Thanks for your help guys. I'll check these out.

I'm planning on building a mid-to-late 1950's car carrier. My thought is to load the trailer with some 'new' 1957 Chevrolets. I'm looking for some ideas for Chevy kits. My mind was immediately set to the Black Widow 150 and the newer convertible kit. Is there a 'newer' kit as a Bel Air? A resin kit for a 4-door somewhere? The trailer when completed will only hold 4 cars.

I'm going with the masses. It's a '61 Pontiac Catalina 4-door sedan. -
1967 Mopar B body options
Swifster replied to Swifster's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I just assumed that with the GTX and Coronet that some resin casters would have expanded the line up. I looking to put these on a transporter and would like different versions on the trailer. I could also use '68's, '69's or '70's. It would be nice to put a 4-door or a wagon to go along with the Chargers, GTX's, Road Runners and Super Bees... -

Any variation of the 1967 Mopar B-Bodies... -

What are my options for '67 Dodge and Plymouth B-bodies. Obviously there is the GTX and Coroner R/T kits out there, but are there any 4-door or wagon conversions available? Maybe a Belvedere 2-door sedan?

I also really like the three car trailer. I've see a few making the run on I-75. That's a very interesting trailer. -
I scored the dual trailers on Ebay. If it comes with two dollies....BONUS! It did get me interested in CF in general and building a whole thing. Now I'll just have to find a reasonably priced White-Frieghtliner SD.

I worked at a Cadillac dealer when the '85 Cimarron redesign came out. I liked it and the much nicer than the 'Cavalier with Leather' that came out in '82. The first one I saw was a V6 with a 5-Speed. I thought the best looking 'J' car was the Pontiac J-2000 (Sunbird).

I'm looking for a big rig dolly like the one below. Any suggestions?

It should also be considered that Chrysler's C-Body cars died in 1977. The replacement, the R-Body, had no station wagon bodies. I love C-Body cars and I'm enjoying this thread...

Steve Kohler at Star Models has been great. He confirmed he had the product and I had both cabs within a week. And the cabs really look nice. -
Thanks Jim. I love this. I'm going to get in trouble...

OK, looking at this again. I'm interested. I don't see it on the website. How much? And is the sign on the building also work on the opposite side?

Moebius Models '59 Dodge & Chrysler Turbine Car.
Swifster replied to W-409's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
As mentioned, Dodge used the 'smaller' Chrysler wheelbase. They also used their own engines at the time. They did use the 361, but they also used their own 383. Chryslers used their own 383 for a couple years before the Dodge engine became the 'corporate' big block. Not much interchanged between the Dodges and Plymouths. -
My dad bought an '80 Citation notchback similar to the subject kit. It must be the only Citation that was not recalled. But that car was weird in the way it was optioned (my dad bought it off the lot). It was a V6, automatic and NO power steering. That thing was a bear to drive. But with the V6, it was very peppy. It was so base that the car came with 1980 style dog dish hub caps. And my dad never swapped the AM radio. A few years later I was working at a Chevy dealer and they had a 1984 Citation II X-11 notchback. It was white with blue stripes and a blue interior. It had the V6 and a 4-Speed. I really wanted that car. I ended up with an '86 Escort GT as my first new car. I wouldn't mind a couple of these kits. I thought the notchbacks were nicer looking than the hatchbacks. I'd like to do a stock one and then dress one up in SCCA Improved Touring trim (race car).

I'm looking to do a late 50's GM car hauler and a Chevrolet parts truck. These types of trucks are usually medium duty, day cab style trucks. The haulers of the time only needed to carry four cars.
