  1. I'd go with the idea that this is better left to IMC. A '70/'71 stock with Pro Stock parts.
  2. What you guys miss is where the money goes. I'd rather keep an engineer in Detroit employed versus an engineer in Japan (or Korea). And for the record, my Dodge hasn't left me stranded anywhere...
  3. For '71, Plymouth split the coupe and 4-dr. They were two completely different cars. Prior to '71 ('67-'70) all Plymouth B-Bodies were part of the Belvedere family. This is from '68... L = Low - Belvedere M = Medium - Road Runner H = High - Satellite P = Premium - Sport Satellite S = Special - GTX The first letter of the VIN on each of these cars is 'R'. The second digit is the letter listed above depending on what car you have. As a coupe in 1971, the M, H, P, and S apply. The E (economy) and L was used on the 4-doors (cabs and cop cars).
  4. I might be wrong, but the air grabber hood was optional on all engines between the RR and GTX. As mentioned, the only real difference is trim and nameplates. In fact, RR's from '72 to '74 could be ordered with a GTX trim package even when the model was no longer available.
  5. My personal belief is that if you drive a foreign car, you lose all rights to complain about the economy...
  6. I've always had a love for big, full-size Grand Prix's. Beautiful cars.
  7. I agree with Charlie. That means nothing in 2012. The landscape is completely different
  8. I took driver's ed in 1979. We had Plymouth Volare and Dodge Aspen DE cars. No extra brake pedals on ours.
  9. Late 70's Toyota pick up.
  10. I want to wire a utility trailer. This is really the only detailing that can be done. What have you used for single circuit wiring?
  11. Darin, my condolenses to you and your family .
  12. That's not too bad. It should buff right out...
  13. It'll be interesting to see how correct the Y-Block will be in the new tool '57 Ford.
  14. From a 'looks' point of view, the '71 to '73 would be the right choice for a Vega or Pinto. Those ugly, big bumper cars do nothing for me.
  15. That's definitely the plan.
  16. Got to love southern Florida...
  17. I was glad to see the Kurtis Kraft midget on this list. There are a LOT of small parts, but looks like it will go together easy enough.
  18. DANG IT!!! Jason, I walked out the door before you posted. You are right about the kit prices, but I still spent $50 in that place. I bought a Kurtis Midget racer, a pin drill and the last two 'Model Cars' mags. I know I could have got the model for less, but it's also the first one I saw down here. The only real reason to stop in Phil's will be to pick up a new magazine if I'm out that way. I'll make a note about Ralph's. I also stopped in HobbyTown for a new knife and blades (couldn't find my old ones yet) and some BMF. Phil's didn't have any and neither does HT. I THINK Hobby Lobby may have some. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Florida hobby shops suck when it comes to model cars. I'll need to make a shopping list for my next trip north. And I'll have to get used to buying via the internet. At least sales taxes disappear. I DID get a $5 off coupon on my next $25 purchase . If buying a case of one particular kit (the Black Window Chevy) will places cut you a discount? I'm planning a dealership project and I'll need a lot of '57 Chevy's for the lot . There are enough resin kits to make a few variances so they are not all the same.
  19. Phil's is actually my last hope that there is civilization in FL...
  20. Well, I'm taking a trip to Phil's in Pinellas Park this afternoon. I still haven't been there. The local Hobby Town has a little sign say they had a HUGE selection of Detail Master stuff. They had to LOOK for it. Found it behind the counter in a small bag... >:-(
  21. I like cars from the 1940's to the early 1970's. Yeah, there are some newer cars that interest me, but these are the main things that yank my chain.
  22. OK, so I've started a few longer term projects. The stuff needed for these cars I order or buy when I need it. But the good doctor is having is three day extravaganza next weekend. I'd like to have everything I'll need by next Thursday. So here's my question; What do you include for a shopping list when starting a new project? I have my paint and glue. I have sanding sticks and putty. I have BMF on my list. Other suggestions?
