  1. OK, I'm learning more and more. I didn't realize testors had a window glue.
  2. I'm in the Studebaker Drivers Club. A man in Washington state had the nicest little '54 Commander Starliner with a 365HP Corvette motor and Chevelle bucket seats. I asked him about the car... "I built the car like I would have in HS if I had any money". I'm doing the samething with my 1964 Daytona in 1:1. I didn't graduate until 1982. I decided the 'time' of the car would be 1968. My high tech sound system is a AM radio, an FM converter and an 8-Track tape player.
  3. OK, so I'm trying my hand at the L700. I know the doors are a notorious pain in the backside. Anything else? Pretty easy to get the frame straight? Easy enought to get it to sit level? On the doors, can anything be done to get them to close right. Door I need to start know about reengineering? I'd really like the doors to open vs just gluing them closed. Just looking for suggestions...
  4. Working on glue issues... I'm glad I asked. The IMC instructions are a little larger and EASIER to read. I have the rails and crossmembers cleaned and ready to go.
  5. Is Ambroid mail order only? I've seen Ebay, Amazon, etc.
  6. So I went to get my glue and found everything is rock solid. Yes, it's been that long. I was going to start on the Dodge L700 frame. So as an update from the more experienced, what glue do you use?
  7. Thanks guys!!! I wanted to get the bare frame put together tonight. Now I can... Again, thanks!
  8. I bought my L700 a few years back. Since then, the box started falling apart and my cats started attacking the plastic bags. Everything was put away, but whereever I stashed the the instruction sheet is beyond me. Does anyone have an instruction sheet for the short wheelbase tractor that they might be able to scan? Or a website that might have this scanned for downloading? Any help would be appreciated...
  9. OK, I have a question. Let me preface this question by saying that this is not a critic of the build or the car. I have one of these on the shelf waiting to build. OK, the question. Shouldn't this car have the 3-Speed Manual? My understanding is that NASCAR 'greenlighted' the manual trans for racing even though the street cars didn't have manuals. I understand the tooling costs of making a trans, pedals and shifter on a limited amount of models. Again, just asking? It kind of sticks out.
  10. 1937 Studebaker Dictator Coupe 1937 Studebaker Coupe Express (pick up) OK, I know this goes over the 1930's limit but it's still Pre-War 1941 Studebaker Commander Skyway Land Cruiser (looks like a little Cadillac)
  11. X2
  12. I had more of a problem with the Charger. It could have been named Magnum. Chargers, regardless of horsepower, should not be 4-doors. Darts were always economy cars. This one fits a lot better.
  13. 1) 1963 Buick Riviera 2) 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 3) 1968 Cadillac Eldorado 4) 1957 Chevrolet Corvette 5) 1965 Chevrolet Corvair
  14. There is a couple trains of thought. Some Mustangs look like they have nothing but chassis black bewteen the pinch welds and others go with the red primer and color over spray. I've seen both...
  15. If you have the time... Whistle Stop 21714 Harper Ave. St. Clair Shores, MI 48080 (586) 771-6770 Great Lakes Hobby 43055 Van Dyke Ave. Sterling Heights, MI 48314 (586) 254-1600 Both are about an hour and a half away.
  16. Coming here in 2006 from Michigan, I was completely spoiled by the full line shops in MI. Here in FL, hobby shops are a barren wasteland. I have yet to find a good one that compares. And I've been to Colonial. I was highly disappointed.
  17. I loved Burger Chef when they were in business and was sad to see them go. Wiki has a nice page including some recipies for the food. If you breakdown a Super Chef, it is basically a BK Whopper but assembled in a different order. During the afternoon on a Sunday when it was slow, I bought two Whoppers but requested them to be put together like a Super Chef. Very good stuff. I don't think they would do this during a busy lunch or dinner rush. The Burger Flipper can't concentrate that hard...
  18. Joe, it's cats...ask me how I know. My black Caliber is outside and that's what the scratches on my car are from. I caught a couple of them up on the roof one night.
  19. It's been about 15 years since I've seen a LeBaron GTS or a Dodge Lancer.
  20. Thanks Tom. Can't wait...
  21. Anything new?
  22. I'll take the Fiesta... My daily driver is a 2010 Dodge Caliber Express...
