Nothing? -
Does anyone know if anyone make a 55-57 Chevy 5700 LCF (Low Cab Forward) conversion kit? I would like one for a vintage car hauler project.

I missed the sale at the local hobby shop, but I got a Lindberg '61 Chevy and two 1997 Chrysler Sebring convertible promos of the bargain table...

The two-tone green and the red over white both look stunning.

Does anyone currently make a resin kit of the 67-72 Chevy or GMC SWB pick up truck? I mostly interested in the 67-70 Chevys but a GMC would do.

The 'new' 318 is visually the same. The 318 used until 1966 was a poly head V8 and looks nothing like the 'LA' engine.

Revell Germany VW Beetle 1500 (Limousine and Cabriolet)
Swifster replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My Dad had a '68 Beetle, so seeing the parts in the sedan is disappointing. To recreate his car, I'd need the sedan, the convertible and maybe Tamiya's '66 sedan. But the bumpers and tail lights in the '70 are a must. -
Just a little about the Studebaker Hawks... The chassis is the same from 1953 to 1964. If there is a difference, it is a brace or two. The body shells for the coupe are the same from 1953 until 1961. The body shells for the hardtop are the same from 1953 to 1958. The body shells for the GT Hawks are the same from '62-'64. The Golden Hawks are the same from 1956-1958 except for the engine. All Studebaker engines are the same except for the 1956 Golden Hawk (Packard engine). And yes, I know the '57 & '58 Golden Hawks are Supercharged, but the basic engine is the same. The fins on the '56 to '61 Hawks were bolted on... The front clips on these cars are similar but not the same. The '53 and '54's are the same except for the grille inserts. The '56 to '61 are the same, but the side trim is different on the '61. The '56 to '61 dash panels are the same. In '54, both Commanders and Champions were in the La Carrera Panamerican road race. Since the race was revived in 1988, Studebaker has dominated the event. OK, say Moebius tools up for a '56 Golden Hawk. With just tooling up for a new engine, they also have the '57 & '58 Golden Hawks as well. If they tool up for the '57 & '58 Golden Hawk, with a body change, they get the '61 Hawk. Or they can swap bodies for a 1954 race car. Any car from 1953 up until the last GT Hawk could use the same platform. Just make the side panels for the interior trim separate so that the base tub can be used from one car to another.

Dave, I can only say thank you! The subject matter has been great. If I'd like anything that can be reused in another car, I'd like to see a '68-'70 Javelin. These can be used as race cars in Trans Am along with stock car. They can also be used for AMX's (and drag cars). Just tossing this out there.

Like Dale, I had a small stroke at 48. Very slight motor skill issues. The biggest issues are the effects of the blood pressure medication. Fatigue is the biggest issue.

BUMP - To The Top I'm curious how large this is as well. I was looking at building a small dealership and it was going to be on a 4' x 8' base.

Thanks Danno!

Does anyone make the half moon hub caps that VW used up to 1965? Tamiya's 1966 Beetle has the '66 and newer hub caps.

I'm blown away. I need to harness my patience. I am truly blown away. And I love this body style a lot. Will need to look for this kit. Mike, I like the way you show how you did something. The pictures, even on stuff not talked about, looks like it could be replicated with just a little patience. Thank you for this thread. And PM sent... -
Anyone have pictures of Fast Eddie's in Harrison Twp, MI. The building looks spot on.

First Mustang ever sold..
Swifster replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm a VIN guy. You'll never find a 1964 Mustang. You'll never find a 64-1/2 Mustang. They are all 1965's. The first digit on every Mustang in 1964 up until the start of 1966 production is a '5'. There may have been running changes (dash board, etc.), but these cars are all 1965. My story and I'm sticking to it... -
The Town Car is the last thing Lincoln needs to build. The median age of a Town Car buyer was 65-death. No one wants to build cars for dead people. I liked the Blackwood, but at $55K for a 2WD pick up truck... The MKZ looks good, but every other car in the class is RWD. And get rid of the lettering. There are a lot of rich history for Lincolns. MKWhatever means nothing. Cadillac sells nothing but RWD. Most cars the Lincoln wants to aim for are RWD. Lincoln selling FWD cars is a fail.
