  1. Very nice! Does Missing Link still make the MPC 70 Charger tail light panel?
  2. Is this one Hemi Orange? It looks like it in the picture.
  3. Are you building it like the one in this picture you posted?
  4. Matt, nice job and choice of color! How is the front stance? Does it site high or low? The Revell 1968 and 1969 Chargers sit very high in the front, out of box. Mike.
  5. Thanks Mike! Can you post a picture?
  6. What type of glue did you use to attach the cowl after everything was painted?
  7. I'm not sure if this the right section for this. I am starting a Monogram 1/24 Jeep CJ-7. It's a nice kit although it's not the best fitting kit I've built. I attached a quick picture I took with the hood and cowl just placed on. It's not glued. The hood has a hinge, basically there to keep the hood in place when it's opened to show the motor. The hinge is toy-like but most likely there so the hood doesn't fall off. In order to use the hinge, the hood(hinge) has to be attached under the cowl 1st and then the cowl gets glued in place. The rear of the hood's hinge goes behind the firewall so the hood can't be attached if the cowl is glued in place before painting. I guess this is OK but the cowl/hood needs to be glued in place after all the parts are painted. I don't think it would be good to tray and paint the body with the hood in place. I'm thinking of using epoxy to glue the cowl in place after it's painted. I wouldn't use styrene cement on painted body parts. I could just not use the hood hinge and glue the cowl in place and paint the body as I would any other car. Any thoughts or ideas on this?
  8. I like the look without the door scoops!
  9. The revised rear window that RC2 did definitely made the kit better but it's shape and size isn't accurate. When the MPC '69 Charger body is compared to a '69 1:1 Charger or to the Revell '69 Charger it's apparent the rear window is too small, not angled correctly and the shape is too squared off. Also the molding is too wide. Laste year I built an MPC '69 Charger and I was disappointed with the rear window when I opened the box. I removed the molding, re-shaped the window and changed the angle slightly so it's a bit more steep. I also re-shaped the rear pillars. They were too rounded on the sides. I attached some pictures showing what I did. The 1st picture is a comparison of the MPC '69 Charger's rear window(right side) to a Revell '69 Charger's rear window(left side). The MPC window is noticeably smaller and the shape is off. The 2nd and 3rd pictures show the re-shaping I did. The last picture is an original MPC '69 Charger annual body. This picture is one Marc(mpcmotorsports) sent me a while ago. The rear window is correctly shaped. It's too bad that someone at RC2 didn't look at reference pictures of actual Chargers when they 'revised' the rear window. I'm currently building an MPC 1/25 Snap General Lee kit and the rear window is similar to how the MPC (glue kit) looks now. It's better but still not accurate.
  10. Round 2 should have picked up an original MPC 1969 Charger annual kit and scanned the body to make a new tool. It could have been sold with the original 1969 annual artwork. The original 1969 Charger body was really nice.
  11. Ken, I should have put 'height' in the title. I meant the height of the tire. Thanks again for taking the measurement for me. Mike.
  12. Hey thanks Ken! 14.5 mm doesn't sound right. Maybe this is the width. I'm looking for the outside diameter of the (rubber)tire. Mike.
  13. There's finally a nicely detailed 1970 Charger available. Otherwise it was a resin casting of the old MPC kit or big bucks on E-Bay for an original. The 1968 & '69 Revell Chargers are great kits and finally a 1970 is on it's way. I wish there were more options but parts from the '68 & '69 can be swapped in or from other kits. I can't wait to see some Revell '70 Charger builds here.
  14. It should have come with a 440!
  15. What kit are the other tires from? Is it an MPC 1/16 Firebird? What's the diameter of the other kit's tires?
  16. Hi, Can anyone who has an MPC 1/16 Firebird measure the outside tire diameter for me? Preferebly in Metric(Millimeters)? Thanks, Mike.
  17. What tires will you be using? The kit's tires are large NASCAR tires.
  18. Jim, I noticed you also added the molding around the rear window. Nice job!
  19. I like the twisted, curvy look of the headers too. I say use them.
  20. It really does! I'd like to do one in either Panther Pink, Sublime or Hemi Orange.
  21. I have an airbrush! Has anyone used Tamiya acrylic Titanium Gold or Gold Leaf?
  22. What's a good gold color match for Pontiac Trans Am 'gold' snowflake wheels?
  23. How are the other areas of the MPC and Revell bodies? Do they match up? Can you post a picture or 2 of the Revell and MPC bodies together? BTW, what project are you working on using the Revell chassis?
  24. I think they should fit OK. I wish someone here had an MPC/AMT Trans Am and a Revell Smokey And The Bandit to compare the sizes.
