Who and where are the MacGuyver Fans?!?
Skydime replied to MsDano85gt's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
yeah, that's what I said when I heard it. The same guy did Saw and Insiduous so, he has a pretty crazy mind. He said he was doing F&F as a "warm up" for MacGuyver. So, I would imagine there is going to be a lot of action. I just hope he doesn't borrow Vin Diesel, put a mullet wig on him and call him Macguyver. -
Never give a farmer a welder.....

I don't know if many of you have heard of them but, the Shriners have a group called the Hillbilly Clan. They do all kinds of crazy trucks like this and run them through parades. They use them to promote and raise money for their children's hospitals. They raise awareness of the group and what they do for sick/crippled children and their families. Then again, at least you can USUALLY clearly identify what they started with. Also, if I'm not badly mistaken, I am pretty sure thats a square body long wheelbase S10. The front of the frame looks almost exactly like that when the bumper mounts are lowered for a body drop. I will have to go out and check my Blazer tomorrow to confirm or disprove this. -

Oh Man! I can't believe someone actually built a model of this truck AND trailer. Very nice! -

You put a little suave on that one. Very nice save of that broken kit! Edit: I just noticed the diamond plate bumper. Nice subtle touch. -

That's a smooth dime and a half. But I gotta ask, what's up with the windshield? It looks like it is actually a little too big for it's framing. Was the part actually made wrong from Revell? BTW, did I miss a post on the Xb in your avatar? That thing looks pretty sweet from here. -
55 Chevy Slameo-DONE!
Skydime replied to slammedi'am's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Dang! Those flames certainly make up for anything you didn't like on the first go round. I've got a buddy with a Sonoma with almost the exact color and layout. -
Extra-good guys...people who ask nothing in return.

Thanks to crazyjim as well for sending me a set of 62 Thunderbird taillights at no obligation...My offer still stands for any extra parts I have that he may need. -

From what I understand, the guy that is directing Fast and Furious 7 is also doing a MacGuyver movie. I have no further details, I just found this in researching Fast 7. -
2014 Malibu Hybrid is DOA.
Skydime replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I am not badly mistaken, I heard on the radio that the Volt and a few other hybrids will be dropping in price very soon. I can't remember the others, but, I specifically remember the Volt being mentioned. -

And i feel a little better now knowing why my mom and dad didnt visit the gas station often in their 77 and 83 Chevettes. I dont really care for these "hybrid" vehicles when there are too many existing technologies that could increase gas mileage. unfortunately, we will never see them mass produced. And as far as newer Malibus are concerned, I wouldn't have one without the V6 like the one in my 08 LTZ. It avereages 30 miles per gallon at highway speed of 70mph and has an excepftional amount of power for whats under the hood -
Show Us Your Stash!
Skydime replied to Bluzboy66's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very good advise. There is a way to turn that off on most phones. So, do your research before posting with your cell...or ipod/ipad, kindle, nook, or other tablet. -
Shockingly, I just found out there is going to be a Hobby Lobby built about 30 minutes from me. That explains Magic Mart dropping it's price on model kits. Looks like I am going to have to educate a few new cashiers on coupons myself. Kinda bummed in a way though cause I always enjoyed taking short road trips to go to the others

I've gotta admit, I was skeptical when I saw what you were starting with. But you certainly did a wonderful job converting that old body into something spectacular! -

Thanks Brad, seeing it raw, it is a Firebird hood scoop. -
Great work Casey. Personally, I would do the jump seats up. I do have a question though. Are you thinking of doing a lowered suspension at all? I ask for two reasons. First, your front fender wells. No sense filling the driver side if you have wheels, tires, and suspension that are going to require removing them and/or replacing them with scratch built versions anyway. Second, you might want to hold off on finishing that rear interior floor. Severely dropped S10/S15/Sonoma extended cabs are notorious for the driveline hitting the back of the cab floor in an extended cab. This issue may translate into a model kit as well. I know you were talking about possibly modifying the front suspension from the one piece. So, you might want to take these factors into consideration. If lowering is not a factor, maybe this will help someone else considering this modification. Keep rockin' this one out!

Im pretty sure this wouldn't be a mangerial level problem as possibly suggested. I would imagine that Hobby Lobby isn't growing in leaps and bounds based upon poor management. If properly addressed to a manager, I am sure he would promptly educate the cashier. Besides their may have been some kits and supplies that were on sale the previous week. If she was new, she might have not been familiar with the sale periods and thought they were all still on sale.

Oh man nice work! I saw one that almost looked identical to this one at a car show last Saturday. Only difference I can tell is the lake pipes and the taillights. Even the interior was the same!

It actually does help. Now I am thinking of trying it out on my Ecto 1 hearse conversion. Thanks!

Cool model displays...
Skydime replied to S. Svendsen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Since it has the center that looks like it holds gas, you could get a lighted globe and a gas hose/handle and make it a faux gas pump. -

new shop (Time to pack)
Skydime replied to b_lever1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bob, if I read this right, you are asking me why I want a lock? I've had some issues in the, not so distant, past. So, I like my workspace to be secured from straying eyes and hands. -

Glad you enjoyed it. The misses doesn't like going to the movies unless she's taking our daughter to a cartoon so, I'll probably end up catching it on Blueray.
