That works too. Im pretty much all over the board. No disrespect to anyone that listens to them but, the only things I can't stand are country, classical, and boy bands. Well, come to think of it...some southern rock and country are interchangeable, and short periods of classical are ok too. But DEFINITELY, NO BOY BANDS! I heard Cee Lo Green naming off rap artists from Texas the other night and I was like, "You forgot Mike Jones and Paul Wall." Now when it comes to building, it's all in what kind of build I am doing. Something muscle from the late 60's and the 70s, most likely some classic Kiss or something like that. Lowriders, definitely Dr Dre or War or generally anything with a smooth rap or Latin vibe will work. Trucks, I build slammed to the ground, so, nothing but modern metal. I try to surround myself with the commonly associated rhythms of what I am building if I get to listen to music.

Type of plastic affecting color?
Skydime replied to Dandydan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
this is where the spoon test can drop out of play. Someone mention repainting just the hoods first before totally repainting. I am going to go a step further and say just test the bottom side of the hood. I always paint the bottom side of the hood first so I get some idea what the finished project is going to look like. Spray both in primer together and then both in paint together. -
very nice. i am amazed how much longer the car looks just by making a diagonal/horizontal cut along the bottom.

Welcome Sonny. Besure to check all up and down the page for sections you might find interest in. Some are easy to overlook at first but, I guarantee it's the best and most organized model car site you will find.

I was in kmart the other day and was excited to see a sony "boom box" that included a cassette recorder. I never had to ask what an 8 track or record was when i was little. i knew i as getting old when my 9 year old asked me what a cassette was. lol On topic, i am usually taking or waiting on phone calls while i build cause i work at home.

No longer active on most but: Mini Truckin' community (on Mini Truckin' Magazine's forum) j-body.org (Cavaliers and Sunbirds/Sunfires) S10 Planet (Self Explanatory) S10 Forum (Self Explanatory) Lay It Low (Their model section is sooo disorganized.) Blazin Low (S10 Blazer, Jimmy, Envoy Forum) If I could afford a classic to fix up the way I want, I would be on the related forums as well.

Of all people, Jerry Springer, says one of my favorite positive quotes. "Be good to yourself and each other."

Oh don't even mention uric acid. I have major gout flare ups sometimes. So, bad I can't even walk for a couple days. But yeah, that's a pretty good innocent laugh there.

http://www.ratchetandwrench.com/ But no, I had not previously heard of them. They look like an industry magazine instead of something general you would see at just about every news stand.

$250,000 for a Mustang knockoff?
Skydime replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
"While the aluminum and carbon fiber-bodied two-door strongly resembles Frank Bullitt’s 1968 Mustang GT, it’s powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1" Technically, it is a Chevy. -
What is up with Round 2's decals
Skydime replied to Custom Hearse's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I haven't had this problem yet but, not to say I won't. I don't have one but, I wander if one of those bag sealer things would help keep decals from deteriorating so fast. I may not be very clear but, I am talking about the ones that you buy freezer bags for and they vaccum seal them for long term storage. -
I like it with black trim.

Andrew, you say this works pretty well? All these work programs are starting to slow down my computer. Do you have a URL for them that you trust? -
You know, you could very well be right. That could just be very whethered where it looks rusted. EDIT By heck, you are right! I just noticed the hole in the fender lip.

Small update Getting some initial shaving and filling done. I haven't even wiped off the bondo dust yet. And I am definitely going to have to get something better than the ipod for pictures. In the first picture, I have removed the side moldings, door handles, and everything attached to the fenders. It's gonna take a couple rounds with the body filler before I get it smooth enough for a first priming. Also, I have cut those ridiculous half weather guards off the mirrors. I wanted them on the body before I finished shaping them so I can see where I stand as I go. Here is the gas door I just started shaving. Again, lots of work left and I will need to continue around the back to eliminate the exhaust and mold in the roll pan. Now I know a lot of people may be confused by the fact that I am leaving a stock grille on a full custom truck. It's not something I would do in real life but, like I said earlier, it's something I have never seen on this model kit so, I am going with it. -
Funny you should mention that, I looked for a hobby shop the first time we took our daughter to Disney World...I came up with nada...except the Epcot Center Japan store inside Disney world. But who wants to pay almost $100 to walk LITERALLY all the way across Epcot center just for the ability to buy a kit? They mostly sell different Skyline kits and some others i cant remember. Although there is a Hobby Lobby in Daytona on the road that passes Daytona Motor Speedway on the way to the beach. It's in a plaza behind a Burger King. And there is a hobby shop in Myrtle Beach, SC if you ever vacation there.

James this is one sharp Silverado. I have a Chezoom Chassis, engine, and interior bucket, I will have to keep this trick in mind. BTW, is that a Firebird hood section? -

If it's a Window's 8 computer, do yourself a grand favor and download Start Menu 8. It is a free program that gives you a pretty much FULLY functional start menu...not a courtesy joke like in Windows 8.1 update. Once you have a real start menu, you should have "Computer" as a selection...which is the equivelent of "My Computer" on some of the older systems. Plug in the camera, go to Start>Computer>Locate your camera on that list of drives, click it, find the "DCIM" folder, and that should be that. 99.9% of the time, you will find all your pictures right there. Sounds like a lot of steps but, really not much more difficult than posting on a forum such as our great MCM forum. If that isn't your cup of tea, Dale is certainly your go to man. His method is pretty well bulletproof. And, it is, after all, coming from someone on the photography side. And the best part, if it is a new "new" computer, then it probably already has a built in card reader.

LOL, I am so glad to see everyone having some fun with this instead of it turning into a flame war. Meaneyme, I hope everyone has made your day a little better. -
Woah! Im actually getting to see some pictures at work right now. These are looking sharp! As for the hood scoop height, I would just mock up the engine and see where it goes from there.

Due to the sheetmetal front clip, I am going out on a limb to say this wasn't a kit car. Most likely a one off.
